There is a reply to this thread from Mr Mike Meenderink. He has given us all a very thorough, scientific, explanation about the mixes. It's not the color solely, that makes these coins "errors". They do have a brass plate, the problem is that it doesn't take much of a change to the mix, to change it from copper, to bronze, or brass. That's where the problem exists in my humble opinion. They seem to have a problem controlling the mix,  Or the aftermath from the mix, to the cleaning, and the washing and drying getting chemicals from one step to the next and soon you have a Frankenstein. In my opinion.

I think anything after 1981 is a mess once the core is exposed it is all down hill from there eventually, they all end up looking like Frankenstein

Nice find @J P M, the oldest wheatie I ever found was 1919. Similar condition to yours. I'm still trying to find one from that year. :golfclap:

I picked up a 09 to 58 cent folder a while back, so I am having fun trying to fill holes. Nothing crazy just roll coins that look worthy. The hard-to-find ones always get a spot. This one showed up today not as hard a find as the 1913 but still 104 years old.

If you zoom in and then turn sideways it looks like a pair of eyes. Possibly a nail set but I would think it would be more of J a hole without the center piece. 🤔 unless something was stuck in the die when it was struck. Sky's the limit.

Whatever it was some type of tool after it left the mint both impressions have the same variation of markings if you look round the raised dot. So, to me it is PMD

So back to original question? Does the value apply to the whole set or just this coin?

Truth ........Without the correct die markers, you are not going to get any more than today's market price of around $9.00 each anywhere you take these coins if you are lucky.

Truth ....... They are still worth 50 cents all day long.

My scale is actually not cheap at all, and it’s fairly accurate. It has the 50.00g weight that I use to calibrate every time. They say to use scales that weigh to at least a tenth (0.1) so I would say that my scale is pretty good….

I have a scale just like yours Haydeen and it works fine. The coins are never the same weight all the time they can go up or down. I roll hunt all the time looking for nice coins to fill coin folders because I like doing it and finding an error coin is like trying to win Powerball. It is not easy to know what to look for even if you find some minor pieces it is still fun. Just don't expect to find the unicorn in your pocket. We had a post of a 92 CAM last week so yes there are some keepers still, but the odds are very high on not finding them.
