  1. I would love to go to a show. I have not been in the right place at the right time so far. Next year I will try to plan my travels differently if posable to try to pick up some shows.
  2. I also believe there must be many thousands of collectors that have a small amount of slabbed coins. I have many coins that I will never have graded. I never even knew there was a registry until I joined NGC. I think it is a great tool for keeping track of one's coins . I will never win a award but it is fun, I like the way it is set up together with the Collectors Society also . Now days I buy all my coins all ready graded so my wife and kids have some way of knowing what they may be worth. I also shop coin stores and most of the prices of coins in 2x2''s on the shelves I can pick up online in a NGS or PCGS holder for the same price or less if I shop around. I do love to haggle over a coin and I know they need to make a buck to pay the bills. I just think now that TPG coins have been around for 40 years it is just easier to find what you want all ready in a slab.
  3. It looks like there was a good number of people there, that's nice to see. Thank you for your pictures Charmy
  4. This is how I sort my coins before putting them in books.( Custom stackable holders ) Each row holds the 5 coins for that year. The park quarters have some hard to find coins for 2010,11 and 12 you can see the ones that are not as full.
  5. LoL found this in a nickel roll tonight.
  6. I started working on the cent ,nickel and State and Park Quarters at the end of 2020. I would roll hunt all three coins so not to get bored with just one denomination. I would save the best six of each and then just before putting them into books I would recheck them again. I now have most of the Lincoln cent books at least one complete collection of Jefferson nickels, Park and State Quarters and enough Park and State quarters to make four or five more sets. Not so much with the cents and Nickels maybe one more of those. It has been a lot of fun. I have seen a lot of nice coins a few real error coins and of course all those error coins that are not .
  7. 1938 to 2022 Ya this is nice and it was a lot cheaper than the registry set. It did take a couple of years to put together roll hunting the coins. I saved the best of the best I could find for the books so they are mostly F, VF and AU coins.
  8. I found this in a coin shop yesterday in box of random slabbed coins. It is not a 66 only a MS64 but it has a nice tone and 1955 D,s are hard to find. There are a ton of graded PF 1955 out there but MS 1955 sell quick and always to high.
  9. Hello Wayne, I like your dedication to the hunt I also hunt almost every day. The coin looks like Die Deterioration more than a Double Die. It is just from a worn out die is letting the metal push over toward the rim .Whenever I roll hunt I check some reference sites for coins to see if there are any others .This may help. I checked here and there is no listing for a1992 D DDO.http://www.varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/DDO listing.htm I am not saying you may someday find a coin that is not on the list it happens but not very often.
  10. It is a optional spot. I may look for one .
  11. One of the pages says a double dated Nickel the other does not. The NGC label does not say a double date on the label?
  12. Well I picked up a 2009 D now the book is complete 1996 up to this year.
  13. Well that sounds like one or both could be in fake holders. Can you post a picture of the front and reverse. There is not much we can say about it without seeing it? It would be good to let others be aware of this issue.
  14. Ya I lost money on the 2023 ASE I just got the other day spot is $21. The ASE is a coin per say and not just a silver round most dealers charge around $32 to $38 depending where you go. That has been the normal price for a while now and if I want it for my collection that is the way it is. I don't expect to pay less the dealer needs to pay the rent.
  15. It is a good looking coin for a book. Sorry to say it has no error. Those marks look like hits on the rim that pushed the metal a bit, normal circulation or what we call bag marks.
  16. I have also purchased coins for my registry sets that normally would be MS but found a VAM or a collectable error for the slot to replace the MS coin.
  17. Copper is a soft metal and can get pushed around and raised. Both cents you posted look normal for there age.
  18. A old cent could loose some copper over the years and weigh a bit less. Does your scale go to two decimal points ?
  19. I can see where the coin was on the edge of the wrapper the waffle cellophane is messed up near the dime.
  20. There are things that get missed . It may not have been a noticeable mark when the coin was new. Time can change things.
  21. Welcome ..It looks like what we call post mint damage or PMD scratches, dings and displaced metal. I to not see any errors
  22. I forgot to ask if you ran into KURT at the show ? I thought he was going to be there.
