Yes, I did try that Sandon, All the coins are correct just they are proofs and in the wrong slots, it does not give the option of move them that I can see. I tried to remove them, but it wants me to mark it as sold in my collection manager which I do not want to do. I will have to jump over to that site and see if there is an option.

Yes, the last four coins are in the wrong slots, and they are proofs so maybe that is what is messing with it? I posted the issue on the NGC registry forum.

It looks like environmental damage has tarnished the copper. If you look at copper lanterns and roofs, they all turn that color after a while.

You found one of the rarest coins in the US and scratched off the edge to prove it was a copper 1982 D . Why would you do that. You could have sent it into NGC. Now it is a damaged 1982 D. Hello Josh, I agree with the others it is not a DD and although repunched mint marks are recorded up to 1989 your coin is not on the list and looks like MD to me.

I will have to keep an eye out for these in my travels.

If you look at the coin I posted it says COPY. These coins have been copied for many years and the originals were made from pewter. Welcome Mustacheman..The coin you are trying to find is one of the rarest of the WAM + CAM cents the other is the 1999 wam. The members here have seen many posts on these coins from new members and are only trying to help. Almost everyone starts out looking to find error coins and it is no easy task. I roll hunt all the time and I can say in 60 years I have never found a coin in pocket change worth any more than a few bucks. I still look for nice BU coins for my coin folders and sometimes I get lucky but never rich. Here are two WAM coins the easier ones to find. Ya right

Most of the time the modern coins are not worth the cost of grading unless the coin is worth $150 or more. I would just get a aftermarket plastic holder to keep it in.

I can see a mark on the top of the 3. That looks like a chip. Hard to tell with these pictures. The last discovery of a DDO Dime was a 1989 P and even that one is unrecognizable to me. It only has thicker letters.

I agree I have seen many box sets and all are priced at the $125 mark. And yes I would have opened it by now just to see how bad the rust is on the folds and see if it had a BB. If you are just into coins to flip them then it will not matter.

I agree with Greenstang, It is not a easy task to find error coins. Many times, magnification can make you see things that will not matter in the end.

Wow a 55 that has not been opened is a cool find.
