  1. So I was sifting through some coins i have and came up with this 1942 s wheat penny that (to me) absolutely does show an error, around the date for sure, and possibly on the mint mark as well. Also there appears to be some kind of anomaly going on just below the number 4, on the date that runs down to the right of the S mint mark as well. I can't tell one way or an other if this coin is something I should spend money on to get it evaluated, or is this a coin I shouldn't get to excited about. If anyone out there can share some insight on what they know about this, or what they think I would appreciate it very much.
  2. Oh and there is defiantly something going on with the number one on the date as well. Don't know if that is a good thing or not, maybe some one out there knows, Thanks
  3. Hi guys, so here's another coin I have a question about, I read that there is an error on the mint mark on the 1957 D wheat penny. I read that the D mint mark was stamped three separate times creating a build up of the latter two marks, leaving the first stamping to show in the middle. Having not seen a photo of this error before on this coin I really can not tell if the coin I have has this mint error, or not. As you can see the coin has been taken care of and appears to be in pretty good condition, it's still in the thick clear plastic protective holder which might make distinguishing weather or not the D looks right or wrong. But if anyone would like to chime in on this topic that would be great, and very much appreciated. Thanks
  4. Ok I get it I can absolutely see what to look out for now on this coin, and thank you for that. In fact thank you to everyone who chimed in on this topic, I really appreciate it very much. I just ran into a handful of coins that I'm trying to sort out with really no experience in this field at all. That being said you guys will be seeing a lot more of me on this platform asking (what appears to be ) these very basic questions that everyone, (except me) seems to know the answers to. Thanks so much in advance for all of your patience and understanding.
  5. Ok Got it, as I said I am really to all of this, and I do really appreciate your patience and understanding. It's just that I ran into a handful of old coins a while back and I'm just now trying to sort them out. Thanks again
  6. Ok this is my second post on this site so I'll make brief. So I have (what looks to me) like a 1992 D penny with the "close AM" on the reverse. However I'm not sure how close the A M should be so to be considered, and, or called a "close AM". Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  7. Hi guys, my first post is a question about the 1969s ddo, I got one here but do not know what to look for. If anyone can chime in with their thoughts on this matter I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you
