  1. It does not look like a error more like damage by man or the environment. It has a sand blasted look like a beach coin.
  2. The starting bid is to high already in my opinion and even when you find a good deal everyone else is looking for one to and( Auto bid ) will almost always win. The 12.5 % buyers fee is still the best around if you can win the bid low enough and there is also a upcharge now if you use a credit card or PayPal. All the extras can add up fast on a high price coin. I wish you luck Jo.
  3. Wow that is a long wait. I just got my first Wilma Mankiller last week.
  4. Welcome to the forum. It looks like someone purposely damaged it on both sides long ago.
  5. Mike is correct do not send this coin in it just has damage that makes it look like there is something that is not.
  6. Sorry it only looks like a lot of copper corrosion to me.
  7. The gold coins are real nice but also one of the most common for counterfeiters that is why I always try to go for a graded piece. This MS63 is a very nice piece hence the gold label but for most collectors in graded gold it is in the middle quality wise I have been told. I look for gold from AU 55 to MS 65 but most of the good stuff goes quick and over the top at auctions. I got this at a dealer and I was lucky to pick it up in the 2021 downswing months. The coin is slowly climbing in value up around 75% from when I picked it up. But that is just the bonus .The amazing in hand detail and look is what makes this coin a special piece to me. The photo I posted is not very good it shows the color and some luster but the trueview shows the detail on the headdress and eagle. Very cool
  8. One of my sweet deals, This is my 1909 D it is one of my favorite coins PCGS values it a bit higher than NGC but it matters not I just like the looks of it in the new style holder.
  9. I found some more hole fillers this morning four more D mints to go. I just found two while I was typing this post.
  10. LoL ya it is a misprint for sure. I wonder how many books they made before someone said something? I think I will put a coin in reverse in the hole. or I could always crack a proof set ..... Naaa
  11. It is not that these Denver coins are rare just that they don't like the crazy New England weather. Good Idea Modwriter if we make a thread we could have a mail swap of P and D coins for members on the other side. East, West, North and South.
  12. I have some of these coins saved already for books so I added them in. The last dozen may take a while Denver mint coins are hard to find on the east coast. There is one coin that makes me wonder? There are no proofs in this book but it is asking for a 1982 S I understand 68s through 74s had regular strike San Francisco is there a regular strike 82 S I am not aware of. I am not a cent collector. Well not yet anyway LoL
  13. I found another pick up at the Antique Dealer. It Needs some holes filled but for $4.50 I thought it was fun enough. The price on the book itself empty is $4.99
  14. They are 86-22 all regular strike ASE except there is a 2007 proof in there. At the time I took this shot I had not found a 2007 to complete the regular set. I have it now.
  15. Thanks Jimbo that worked fine. I new there must be a place to remove a coin just needed to know where to look . Thank you
  16. I am sure this has been asked many times But I can not see a thread out of the hundreds here. I have a coin that was added to my set by mistake ,I posted the wrong certification number . It was removed from my NGC site set but when I go to the Collectors Society and check the inventory sheet it is listed as a sold coin ? I never owned the coin it was a typo error during a submission. So my question is can I remove a coin from my inventory sheet on the other site? Thanks , JP
  17. I have a full set of BU ASE's I purchased from dealers they are not in graded TP holders but every one of them came from the mint in tubes to the dealer and then to me. So I would say these coins are uncirculated they are ASE's and were never intended for circulation they are bullion coins with dates and a denomination of one dollar on them. I never see any ASE's at the bank. People don't use them to buy anything so in my opinion they are all uncirculated bullion coins.
  18. It is sad that there are so many that think there is a get rich quick plan to everything. No need to put in your time or years of apprenticeship or schooling. I am way outdated. When I was young I actually liked and wanted to work and accomplish things. Silly me
  19. Cleaning a coin could be rubbing it with a finger or shirt. I see many coins that have been graded cleaned that I can hardly see a thing wrong at all.
  20. Only the die has been changed is what they are trying to say. The mint doesn't restrike a older coin like DW and Rodger said.
  21. To me, all the coins so far in this post look to have been cleaned in some way.
  22. People may not like you picking through there pockets. I would reconsider and pick through your own pocket change only.
  23. Yes I knew I had seen them for sale at some of the online sites. It matters not to me I have never bought anything from the mint and have no reason to start now.
  24. I think I saw somewhere you can buy the spring loaded velour thingies all alone without coins in them ?
