  1. I did buy it graded already. Bought a few lots of lower grade coins to study. Ended up with about 15 coins in all. I have never submitted a coin so I’m not the greatest person to ask about that. I don't see many die crack attributions on labels. I wouldn’t say a die crack is a variety though. But like I said, Im not sure. They are gone aren’t they. Good eye. Could be a grease job. Nice find.
  2. I don’t know all that much about these coins and this is only my opinion, but just from comparing the two coins I see a few differences. I understand they are two different years, but I wouldn’t think there would be that many areas that differ from each other. I could be wrong.
  3. Hey JP, I know you like nickels with die cracks, so here you go. 1951 D with an almost rim to rim crack on the reverse. Just doesn’t quite make it all the way. Fish hooks right back into the O.
  4. Thats a looker. If you hadn’t said something I would have said it was starting to turn to that pink magenta red. Good steps too. I like it. Nice grab.
  5. Nice pick up HogH. She’s a beauty. Happy for ya.
  6. Thanks. Yea not bad for 112 years old. I’ve seen much newer in much worse shape. They sure don’t make em like this anymore. Gotta love that old copper.
  7. You make a valid point my friend. As long as she has all her teeth, I’m good with it.
  8. Seems there are quite a few nose to rim cracks on a lot of different denominations.
  9. Thanks. Yea she’s not the prettiest prom date, but it’s a little more interesting than most of my change.
  10. The pics are superb my friend. I have got to get a better camera.
  11. Can’t find us a W quarter, but I can find this. Go figure.
  12. Found this old worn out Lincoln cent in my change a while back. Kind of forgot I had it, and ran across it again. Probably the most worn out coin I have seen in hand. Looks smooth as eggs until you get it under some light. It has definitely seen some action. I noticed that the T at the end of the word trust on the obverse is gone. May have been rubbed off. The reverse is rough as a stucco bathtub. Looks like it has been jabbed with a knife a few times and a game of tic tac toe was in the works. Just thought I would share this with the rest onions. Crazy what is still out there in the wild. Enjoy this beater.
  13. You are posting some gorgeous buffaloes. Excellent.
  14. It would be very cool to have a few coins from the same cracked die. Especially if you could see a progression.
  15. Nice pick ups JP. I need to start getting some older proofs. I’d like to have some old walker proofs.
  16. Here is my Appalachian nickel in a holder from that small window in time where both the star and T designations were used.
  17. Here is a good thread that discusses this subject. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/the-ngc-t-w-designations-the-lost-designations.208532/
  18. It means “white” for a clean untoned coin. Those were designations that were only used for about 2 years I think. There is also a designation T for a toned coin.
  19. That is a good thing. Must be a real looker. Congrats.
  20. I saw somewhere that they used to carry those coins on strings because they didn’t have pockets back then.
