  1. Yes there were both mint sets and proof sets in 1970. If attributed correctly it should grade as a MS coin. Along with the mint sets, the S coins were distributed like any other circulation coin through the banks. If you will notice, in 1970 there were no nickels minted in Philadelphia. This is true for 1968 and 1969 as well.
  2. The 38 coins are probably my favorites. They have a certain look to them and a nice satiny finish. Nice coin.
  3. I got the email today about the new DC inventory and looked at it earlier. Now almost 75% of that stuff is sold or on hold. It is amazing how quick the new stock at that place goes.
  4. That’s even better. I’d rather it be clean than have the grease spot. Glad it is a winner.
  5. No worries brother. I know you got the ammo. Feel free to post em up.
  6. It’s about time you posted some of your nickels on this thread!
  7. What exactly is this? Is it some type of commem from the mint? I love it.
  8. We all have to start somewhere. I have my fair share of those “learning” coins too. Hope it’s a dandy for ya. Congrats again.
  9. The final set of PDS quarter rolls showed up yesterday for the ongoing AWQ project. One year complete and 3 to go. I have enough boxes as long as they don’t pull some tricks and mess up the count. I hope they continue with the same wrapper design throughout the series. I read that 2026 will be celebrating the Sesquicentennial and will have one year designs. Probably something similar to the 76 coinage. Then they are going into another 4 year series for American Youth Sports. 5 coins per year again. The Half dollars are going to be one new design per year dealing with sports featuring disabled / impaired athletes. Not sure if I will go to this extent again after this collection is complete. I did want to do this project though and happy to have at least one year finished.
  10. Congrats brother. I think those coins that grab you from the start are usually good buys and if you don’t pull the trigger it will eat at ya. Most of the time they are even better in hand. I’m no grader by any means but it looks solid at 66. Looks to have good luster potential and the few hits I do see are hidden mostly in the wings. Grease spot on the right wing? Obverse looks pretty clean. I wouldn’t kick her out. I like it. Kudos.
  11. Thanks brother. It should be back home tomorrow.
  12. Congrats on the upgrades to your set CB. Very nice looking coins and the pics are fantastic. Mr. Goodman does some really good work. Your 40 set will be well represented. Congrats again.
  13. Found this on Numista but it doesn’t give a composition. Looks like OC stands for Osborne Coinage. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia146394.html
  14. Good looking coin JP. Between both NGC and PCGS there are a total of 0 coins graded with full steps for the 1960 D.
  15. Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate it very much. It has been a fun collection to put together. A lot of the toned coins are now residing in the second set as I upgrade. There are still a few toners in the main set but not near as many as before.
  16. I agree with you there. It’s not as attractive as the other coins.
  17. Here is a link to the custom set. You can see what the coins graded out as. Looks like the quarter was the standout of the group but, one of the Lincoln cents received a star as well. https://coins.www.collectors-society.com/wcm/CoinCustomSetView.aspx?s=15661
