  1. She's a rough looker but I've been dying to get my hands on one of these. Swore I'd never buy a details coin knowing it was a details coin. I never could afford one of the nicer ones. After reading about these I really wanted to own a piece of the history. I'm still very happy to add this to the collection. I won it in auction at a very good price. Cheapest I've ever seen one. Hopefully one of these days I will be able to add a nicer example in the collection. Also gonna try my best to go for a Vermont also.
  2. They never taught either one of my kids to write in cursive in school. They can't hardly sign their names.
  3. I decided I'd like to have a few of these tokens so I got a small handful off Ebay. According to the description I'm supposed to get one of each of these. I chose these cause I wanted at least one from my home state. Kentucky. According to the description I'm supposed to get a couple. I'm very excited about it. Don't know if they will be the same shape as pictured but they were very cheap so I'll be happy with whatever. I bet it was alot of aggravation dealing with these back in the day.
  4. I agree. It's a very beautiful piece. Would love to own something that nice for my collection.
  5. Would definitely take the $10. But if it was a good friend wanting it I would feel bad about charging that much for it. Would probably just give it to them. It's just a common coin badly damaged.
  6. I would like to have one in a way but I'm not gonna fool with it. Would rather save my money and get a real one from the good old days. Seems more special to me to get something that has survived for over 100 years or so.
  7. Very nice. You got some beauties the past few days. Very cool stuff my friend.
  8. Are they making them to the exact specifications as the original ones.
  9. Just got this one in the mail this morning. NGC ms66. Not the most beautiful one out there but I got a great deal on it. I'm satisfied with her.
  10. I've noticed that the strike doubling coins are so common that almost every handful of change has one or two in it. If you look at them under a microscope or strong loupe you can find them all day long. When I first started collecting I found one that was very strongly doubled. After watching YouTube videos I thought I hit the big time. Then after looking through more of my change I picked out a dozen more. Then after research I found out what strike doubling is. I knew it was to good to be true. Some can still look very cool but still just strike doubling. They are just way to common I've come to find out.
  11. I've had the same thing happen on mine. It would update and change the delivery times. Then if you take the tracking number and put it in usps website it will tell you its still on the way but arriving late.
  12. That would be cool to look through. All the history. I've been reading a little bit in some old Numismatic Magazines and they been telling the story behind a few of the old tokens. The old river ferry tokens are pretty cool too.
  13. I would love to add a couple to my collection. I've been trying to collect more of certain things like the GW quarters but I also would like alot of diversity as well. And I'd love to add some of those.
  14. Wonder what will happen if u already have coins scheduled to be graded during this change? I have some and have already been charged that have been scheduled to be graded. Do you reckon they will go back and charge more?
  15. I got to looking and I already had 48D In my collection. I ended up getting a real deal on a beautiful, lustrous 1936 ms66. I'm gonna get skint soon as the boss finds out but I couldn't pass it up. I'd probably never find one like that again that cheap. Reputable dealer also. That will take care of one of my earlier dates. Seems like the ones in the thirties are hard to find in ms66 for under $80.
  16. Yea. That was the one I was referring to. I'd swear up and down I didn't know no better. Tell them someone passed it off to me.
  17. I finally made it to 170 on my GW collection. I let you know what I get knocked down to after it comes into effect. Took alot of work to get down that far. There's several coins to that set. I've got a long ways to go to complete it. Spent many days working overtime and odd jobs to buy them. Spent many days listening to the wife yapping at me. Bout to go deaf in this one ear. She just don't understand I need these coins. When it goes into effect we can see what kind of an impact it's gonna make because I only have 1 CAC GW in that set. I got a couple on the way but as of now I need 64 more to finish it.
  18. I think if they are gonna do that they should have categories for it. Not really fair to the ones who worked so hard and spent their life's savings to get where they are at. Then someone with less valuable coins with stickers on them knock them out of their spot. To make it fair there outta be a category to compete without stickers.
  19. Also they stamp so many and so quickly they cannot catch them all. If they do I assume they pick them out and cull them. Then collectors find them in change when they end up passing through inspection without getting found by mint.
  20. Learn something new about these coins every day. Thanks for the cool fact.
