  1. @GBrad good to see ya up and about again.... i am leaning to a 6 6 RD on this one.. and you are right these things do get a ton of nicks in them..
  2. that's what happens now a days with the "Pride in workmanship" we have these days. or is that entitlement? not much attention to detail coming form the mint these days
  3. exactly what i do with my proof and mint sets. i get a couple and break them down to my albums!
  4. JP you just ain't whistling Dixie!! I have noticed this on almost all of the early Jeff's and now V 's are taking off as well....... as @Coinbuf said we need a change at the top this inflation is killing me!!. need to get back to the way things were!
  5. So i am starting to get ready for summer F.U.N. 2023. I was thinking that i would pick up a couple of new Lincoln cents to start rounding out my set. only need a few in the 20's and a couple in the teens. All of my Wheaties in my slabbed set are 6 6 red from 29 - 58. So i started to put together my want list and started to notice that gem RD Lincoln's price tags are through the roof. so now i ask ya when did the Lincolns prices go through the roof. i am looking at some and they are worth more than my 6 5 Walkers and Morgan's. some are even worth more than my complete 6 4 set of Peace dollars, Heck I know i have been concentrating on other areas with my Indians and Buffalos and SLQ's but i decide this time to start to fill in those missing pieces. Looks like it is going to be a onesy twosy pick up from now one.
  6. Sorry bubba that should have been 20 my fat fingers and all
  7. all of these are plain collector grade between F and XF. not much value to them, mostly just silver content. anywhere from 20 - 30 dollars these days.
  8. Like Goldfinger said these are just worth silver bullion value. Mass produced novelty items of an example of each mint that struck Morgan dollars.
  9. https://www.cacgrading.com/pricing Just looked them up it seems that they are pretty much on par with the big 2 on the modern and the economy. However the upper tiers are exponentially greater than the big 2
  10. Oh man now we are talking!!! let me take a lookie at her!!
  11. yes its a good looking Lincoln . leave it as it is and she will love you back!
  12. and here i was just thinking it was the Jameson............
  13. Hey Bobby, I do not believe this is a DDR looks like common machine doubling to me.
  14. wow thats a good eye to see that but like Powermad said it just looks like the old fashioned machine doubling. maybe even a little die deterioration.
  15. This is neither as @idhair said it is machine doubling and the "D" is not correct for an RPM. it is shifted incorrectly
  16. i would say they should have thrown these dies out 1/2 million cents before it go to this one.
  17. I have a credit card.... wait let me go and ask my wife if i can look at it... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH... i only use a credit card if i am out of town and have to get a room and or a car. other than that it stays in my safe... i am a cash carring person. also. cents and nickels are very large portion of my collections from the beginning of the small cent and nickels. love'em
  18. welcome to the forum. imo non of these would warrant grading. get a couple of blue Whitman folders and start to fill them up. Unless you are getting a 6 6 0r 6 7 they arnt worth grading. you should probably also pick up a red book and an ANA grading standard book and read and enjoy.
  19. Just say'n does anyone know where Goldfinger was around that time???? i mean i think it is his block... or he may "know this guy"
  20. Awesome!! just try to show up at the teller window with a few rolls and see what happens
  21. Izrafel, Welcome to the chat board. if you stick around long enough you will find that there are some very knowledgeable individuals with 100's of years of coin collecting behind them. so for my two cents worth. #1. when you submit at the standard rate the $3000 max is your determination of how much you think the coins is worth for insurance purposes. if you think it is only worth $2500 then submit under that tier and if it comes back a winner--Worth more-- then your set they will not go back and back charge you. however if the coin is obviously worth more then you may get a call or an email say they will need to talk to you about it. #2 error coins are a different story. if you have an obvious error like off center or clipped planchet these will be a straight up $18 fee. but if they have to research it and "you" think it is an error it may come back as not and you have still spent your $18 for the research. It is best to do the research first and then state what you think it is on the form. #3 Generally speaking most mint sets aren't worth breaking out and sending in for grading. it is pretty much a waste of your hard earned money. if the packaging is starting to yellow and your coins are getting hazy it might be best to get them out and put them in a capitol plastics holder or some other type of archival holder. #4 SMS (Special Mint Set) is a special processing of the coins of particular years usually the 65 - 67 mint sets with a couple of nickels in the 90's and a Kennedy in the 98 time frame. it is a special processing of the dies where there are heavier pressure and sharper strikes of the coinage but not to the level of a Proof. hope it helps and if i got anything wrong we will hear about it and you will get better answers.
  22. You may be disappointed if you do. do not be surprised if those other company's come back as detailed, cleaned, or a much lower grade then you think.
  23. Hey Meagglmoo welcome to the boards. In the early Lincoln book there are only like 4 or 5 that are worht getting graded in circulated conditions and those would be the 09 - s , 09 - s VDB, 14-d, 31 -s and a 22 if it is a good one. other than that there isnt much meat on the bones but thy are a great set to collect and wonderful to have.
