I have never once been asked to provide a "shipping from" address when shipping a package.  Informed Delivery is a great resource, but for incoming packages only.  For outgoing, you still need to manually enter the tracking number.

To the OP, hopefully your package arrives safely.  The insurance you purchased is now moot, since you need your receipt to prove the amount.

I have a account with USPS and do my shipping labels online when possible, sometimes it saves me a few cents/dollars, hence the reason for them having my address.

I sent coins to NGC on the 11th using USPS but unfortunately I lost the reciept with the tracking... Last time I sent coins it was only a few days before I got a confirmation email that they have my coin. Now it's been 8 days since I sent this package and still no word. I've been pretty worried and checking my email frequently hoping for NGC to pop up. If it helps, I did buy insurance on the coins but I really would hate to lose them.

If you use the USPS app and have a account made with them it will store the info you want. It automatically recognizes your shipping address and places shipping To's and From's there. (assuming you use same addy when signing up and ship from for pkgs.)
    It's a great resource.
I should state...Most of the Time it does.;)

  3. Being fairly new to more dedicated collecting the last few years and with this silly covid restrictions have made some of us somewhat dependent on using the internet and various selling platforms for collecting. I have had to trust others opinions and descriptions of coins in the marketplace and forums like this for info, data...etc. I have learned that about 50% cannot be trusted(this is the big market/auction sellers not forum ppl) with their opinions on a coin. Numerous what I call high dollar items I have purchased, over trust, has cost me some expensive learning and many of those items have been returnable but some not....in the tune of $2000+. Had this been a brick and mortar store and talking face to face with the seller I can assure you I would regain my losses either by speaking to the person or by legal means if necessary. I don't take being ripped off lightly.
...so, with that being said "Honesty is the best policy"
...and the CAC stuff, it should have NOTHING to do with the grade of a coin IMO but only the additional appearance due to toning, luster and the like.

Being able to scan the barcode of NGC holders to add them to a set would be really nice. Not that typing it in takes much longer but if you are looking for wish lists it would be nice.

A little late to reply but if you happen to have their app you can scan it and add to the registry that way, along when designating where it goes or even adding a category.

I went a little nuts in a Japanese auction.  Let's hear it for the global economy and the ability to move money across denominations and borders.  I have to admit I was a bit puzzled by the groupings.  These were three lots.  I'm not sure how this will format after loading up the photos so I'll describe and you all can figure out which photo goes with the commentary :D.

The first lot contained four coins.  The three 'Mount Fuji' common style 1 sen showing three different shades of clay (translates as porcelain, but is a clay mixture).  Each of the three sites chosen to produce the clay coins used slightly different clay mixtures.  This was just neat showing the same design, three colors.

Oddly enough the fourth coin in the lot was the white 5 sen.  Not sure why it was grouped that way, not even one of the other 1 sen coins!  The white 1 sen was in a lot by itself.  Now, all I need is the white 10 sen to complete that set.

The last lot had the red 1 and 5 sen with the vertically oriented characters.  Again, 10 sen missing, but it was a great to get some new varieties to my rather oddball (and otherwise tiny) porcelain Japanese coins.

These types of coins were common daily use types ? I'd be afraid to break them. What size are these considered...mm?

  6. If you could post a image of Obv & Rev cropped, the folks here will be able to give you better advice. Just make sure it's in focus the best you can and no over the top glare..
FYI...a person level of experience doesn't really change the tier you'd send it in. Economy/$22 is a option...it is slower but same results.
