  1. Sorry my bad, he looked up and found out that PCGS has it listed at 40 dollars. But his book says 10 dollars a grade lower. Not understanding what he's getting at.
  2. He had it for about 30 min. I was doing yard work until he brung it back to me. Then that's when he was telling and showing all the flaws. Idk I was just curious what he was saying at the time. It just wasn't panning out at the time.
  3. Hi everyone, ok I'm a little confused on this coin. I bought this and a barber dime a couple of weeks ago. I showed this to an individual and he scoped it out for like 30 minutes, and told me the reason I paid 15 dollars for this coin is the scratches and damage of the capsule. I thought it was about the coin not the capsule. Remind you this guy is old school he goes buy his books. He doesn't get on the web for anything. I understand people want the capsule beautiful and pretty, but in my case like usual I end up with odd stuff. I didn't know the capsules would bring down the value. Then it was pointed out to me that the coin should have not been graded so high MS68. That the highest it should of been graded is MS63 or 64. Because of the major nick and scuffs on the reverse. He saying, don't know what was going on while they were graded the coin but should be an error on the grading company's part. He's also saying that it's a good example coin I got here to compare other coins I might get graded in the future. Long story short, he wants to buy it, but it's not for sale. He wants it so he can have something he can throw back at the grading company if he gets back a graded coin that should've, would've lol. What excites me, I have a cool conversation piece. I just need to learn more about grading I guess, but I'm not close to that part of the hobby yet. But some day I will be able to be at that point, not right now though. Any help would be great. Thanks
  4. I have an extra button on the kids shirt. I keep searching and can't find anything thing on photos with a button in that spot. Or is that a slight hit. It looks to me it's raised, but could be wrong. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks
  5. This one is a little confusing. In 1944 they changed the metal to cooper, zinc and nickel. That's supposed to weigh 4.9 But this coin is weighing less than the cooper/nickel ones. That weighs 4.8. I tried comparing photos to my coin but nothing is odd about it maybe thinking it's a replica. Unless someone can see what I'm not seeing. I have a 1938 and it weighs 4.8 like it's supposed to. Would this coin be a planchet error.
  6. I thought this was a interesting coin. Still trying to figure out what caused this to happen. Any info on this is appreciated. Thanks
  7. So I looked back on a 1943 Steelie I posted while back, and looked at a few on line. Pretty much environmental damage.
  8. I apologize everyone, I'll catch up on responses. I had to step away for a bit to travel to California to pick up the rest of my mom's stuff out of storage . And bring back to Nebraska. Kinda went at a bad time, I had to go through Stockton while protesting is going on. There were burning buildings all kind of stuff going on. Glad to be home and safe. I ended up with a few more coin that I will be posting. Got a couple of interesting one's.
  9. This is the last, just went through 3 rolls of Steele's. Is this considered strike doubling and or die erosion doubling. I couldn't help showing this.
  10. Thank you greenstang, I have another one but the reverse is going the other way. Does that make a difference. Just wondering.
  11. Hello everyone, came across this and thought I would share. I'm trying to figure out exact how many degrees this is rotated. I was hoping someone might know. Thanks
  12. I know this might be pushing it on this coin , but is that a die crack in the middle of his head, right below the crease line of his hair. Trying to figure that out to. Hmmm
  13. I wanna say DDO, but I'm feeling I'm seeing die deterioration doubling. Either way I hope I'm right. If that's a double eye I'm going to be shocked
  14. I came across this one also ,thought I can get some thought on this coin. I know to look for the varieties but cant help seeing something like this. Thanks
  15. Just curious does die clashes have to be major in order for it to be really valuable. Because I put a few really minor ones in my collection just to say I have them. I'm also wondering if the have to be certain dates. This one is under his chin. Thanks
  16. Your right bob, I didn't see that. Good eye. And it matches with the line. Maybe I need to scope the coin's better. My bad.
  17. True, sorry for that, yes it's in the coin not raised. So that would have taken a hit through circulation right. It's just odd the way it looks and how it goes from collar straight down perfectly on the back. Hmmm
  18. Hi Coinbuf, what's a better option to get a better photo. Should I zoom in on my scope and get a better close up. Idk if that will work but it might. Thanks
  19. Hello, I'm not for sure on this one , if it is damaged or a mint error. If this took a hit through circulation, than that was a even hit. But I'm looking at the crease and lines on Lincoln's coat and thinking it was a mint error. Idk, maybe you can let me know more about it. Thanks
  20. Hi everyone, I think I'm on to something here. It looks kind of doubling I see on variety vista. Could this be the one to say it's a DDO. Hmmm.
  21. Ahahahah, nice title name right. The S is very low on this coin, actually touching the rim. I know they were hand punched . And also slightly being differently placed. But this one is obviously Surfing the rim. It looks like the rim was folded over because tip's of the date are missing. Idk, I could be wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated on this. Thanks
  22. Ahahahah lol, it's all good. I get those alot.
  23. Hi greenstang, I'm doing some research on a few of the coin's I posted and I believe this coin isn't upside down. I believe the date is supposed to be on top. Here's a pic.
  24. I see alot of MD and DDD but I also see DD in the U. This coin has alot going on with it. What would be your thoughts. Thanks
  25. Hi Karen, thank you for the helpful tip. I'm going to try that.
