  1. Hi everyone, was searching through some world coin's and came across this Japan 10 yen. I can't find anything but on YouTube on this.under the video in the description it says it's the most expensive and rare coin of Japan. I'm going by the markings under 10 it's mind boggling. I believe it might be a 1944. I don't really listen to anything YouTube has, but it's a 35 second video and has 5 thousand views. It's the only one with the same markings under the 10 on the coin that I have found. I hope someone can give me a little more info on this. Thanks
  2. I'm getting the feeling these are common on the 2020's. They must of had a hard time at the mint. Another cool find. Interesting lol.
  3. So I circled the die clash area, but right bottom of coin I'm thinking thats damaged. Or could that be delamination or struck through. Hmmm.
  4. I thought this was pretty interesting. This is ethier die crack or plate bubbling.
  5. You must be preferring on the reverse at the left bottom of coin. I pull about a dozen of them out of rolls in a day or two. That is obviously a die crack going from Lincoln's bust/head . And through his hair .Machine doubling and die cracks are two different things. I was just making sure with the smudge that brakes it off in between still counts.
  6. By just looking at the coin, it didn't seem to go from the rim to Lincoln's head. But I used the scope and it does. Looks like there was a smudge in between. What do you all think, does this one count as a spiked head.
  7. I wasn't going to be the one to say anything. But it's a fighter, it beat up the others to be on a coin lol.
  8. Thanks greenstang, maybe I should have called it "The Trail to Liberty ". I don't know but cool.
  9. Hi everyone, so what would this be prefer as. It can't be a DDR because there's nothing like that on newer penny's. Could this be die deterioration. It looks like the die was shifted during strike. But if you ask me, automatically I'm going to say plate bubbling. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. It's under the ribbon on the left bottom of the coin.
  10. Here's a bit better focus of the obverse with out the scope. I'm feeling it's a rpm but my gut is saying other wise.
  11. Would this be considered a RPM. It's a little faint but looks like one. I seen photos with the rpms going north. But this one is going south.
  12. Thanks on this one greenstang, my brain thanks three different scenarios and I was still wrong what to call it.
  13. Thanks greenstang, everytime I look up delamination on line it correctly says lamination. And I wanted to call it delamination. Hmmm weird.
  14. Thought I would share this also, pretty interesting to find. It seems when you get into the older coin's, these are a little difficult to find.
  15. I'm stuck on this one. Is this a lamination or struck through, or maybe took a hit. It's under Lincoln's chin. Thanks
  16. Do you think this would reach EF40. I'm looking at the book , not much at that grade would be worth sending in to get graded. But just curious. It's hard but I'm trying to eyeball decent coin's.
  17. I only see tree dings, I circled the spots, the rest is pretty much scratches on the capsule.
  18. That's funny, I was going to ask if anyone would like to see the obverse. There's dings there also. But yeah I'll show it.
  19. Thanks Coinbuf, yes it's a keeper. I'll do what you suggest on cleaning the scratches.
  20. I've been doing some research on this coin. Found out PCGS grades FB top and bottom horizontal and has to be well rounded. NGC grades horizontal and vertical well rounded on mint state coin's. Pretty much the whole torch. I was looking at the coin again and the band going horizontal on the bottom of the torch isn't well rounded. It took some kind of slight hit. So I'm thinking I ended up with a high graded damaged coin. I feel like this coin should have not got pass the grading process. I'm feeling that is a rare circumstance on this. Hmmm
