  1. It is a beautiful site, I used to live in Wasco county and other little towns around it. Had to drive around and through Mount hood town to get to Portland. I lived in Oregon for 18 years. My kids were born and raised in Oregon. I read on a site that the volcano is still active but sleeping. If it does erupt it's supposed to be a bad one. Hope it doesn't neither.
  2. I don't know what to actually call this but I'm going to say steam. Mount Hood is still active but sleeping and steam coming out in different pockets of the mountain. I actually caught this at the right angle of the coin in hand. Then did some close ups for everyone to see. Interesting peice . My question is , could this be a blister bubble in the die. Just asking for sure what this might be. Thanks
  3. I would think if you send a coin in to be graded by the top 3 grading services like PCGS, NGC, and ANACS, they would or should label as a DDO or if they see any other Errors/Variety. There pretty good at spotting stuff on coin's. I'm a newbie also, I'm still learning just like the rest of us. Hope this was any help Good luck hunting.
  4. Thanks everyone, I'm thinking it might just be a high graded uncirculated coin. But I could be wrong there too. Hmmm, this one got me puzzled.
  5. Hi everyone, just wondering how you can tell between SMS, and business strikes. I have this coin and thought it was a proof at first until I was doing some research and came across there were no proofs. But it's unlikely your going to find a SMS in the wild because there very rare. Is this just a good struck shinny business strike coin or is there something I'm missing. Thanks
  6. Hi everybody, need some help. Did the die not properly line up on this coin or shifted somehow. You can see it in GOD we trust and at the bottom in quarter dollar. Thought I would share and get other thoughts on this. Thanks
  7. I hear you there Vkurt, that's why I didn't use a scope. I'm understanding just close ups are the better way to go. I'm learning from you and the other guys in here ,if you can't see doubling by looking at it in hand, then through it back in circulation. As much as I pull the scope out to look for double is hard at times. As Much I think it's doubling it's not. So I just try to look for the simple stuff. But I really do want to find a true double die and share. But still waiting for that day to come.
  8. Thank you, didn't think it was but thought I would share incase someone sees something that I might have over looked.
  9. Who's out there doing these. Ahahahah. It was almost believable until I look on the reverse. It's interesting, I'll keep it for awhile.
  10. I have this proof like coin, but wondering if this is a DD. I'm trying to match it with the DD in the red book and on line but not sure. It kinda looks to be, but on the other hand it kinda don't. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
  11. Thanks Conder101, wasn't really sure on this one.
  12. That's nice, I like that. Thanks for showing.
  13. Cooooinnn fiiiggghhtt!!! I like coin fights. Ahahahah
  14. Thank you. Yeah still a couple things I'm concerned about. Like the A and M in America, I feel like they are separated to far apart. Hmmm
  15. Nice, gotta try something like that. I try to find and buy boxes of world coins when I come across them. Never know what are in the mix. They are fun to go through.
  16. Thought this was kinda funny. The stuff you find in circulation these days.
  17. I found this the other day, thought I would share. I have the 20 and five centavo, now I'm on a mission hunting down the 10 centavo.
  18. Would this be considered a cracked skull or pierced head . Thought this was interesting. Thank's for any information.
  19. Hi everyone, just wondering if this is a replica/Fake. I've been researching this and reading that theres alot of fake's on these. But this coin looks legit except the Dot isn't between the lettering One and Cent. It's actually between Cent and the Line. Really like this coin, but not wanting to purchase anymore fake's. What would be your ideas on this. Also it looks to be cleaned. Thanks.
  20. Hello everybody, I'm thinking this is a 1983 but also has no 12 sided edge. And also weighs 2.5. I thought maybe a 1963 but they weigh 3.24. My question is, instead of a struck through grease die, is this a possible dryer coin. I'm not sure but the reverse looks a lot like that. Any help would be helpful on this one thanks.
  21. I thought this was interesting, die chips all over this coin. I'm thinking it might be a MAD also.
  22. I have these nickels and thinking these are die chips next to FS, the O, and S in cents. And would that be a die break going down the left side of the building. Pretty much the coin is almost exact with these errors on the reverse. Sorry about the first pic, thought I rotated it the correct way before posting.
