  1. On the obverse next to his throat, can't figure out what might be going on behind his neck tho. Reverse is just amazing, Almost the whole outlined image of Lincoln himself.
  2. Thanks Conder101, I was wondering about that also. Back to hunting.

We cross our fingers for one of you comment in our threads. When I say we, I'm talking about people around me that you and alot of guys on here inspired in learning so much about the hobby. At least I can keep the memories of you calling out my first find and and helping me with my last coin. Wherever you go keep inspiring other's of the hobby like you have done here for us. Tom you will be missed guy, Good Luck Out There.
  5. Thanks Tom, it looked pretty close than usual, thought it would be a interesting coin for everyone to see. Really I'm looking for the varietys but I'm always checking out the whole coin.
  6. I couldn't help but notice that the right point of the star is touching a feather, and the top point of the star is touching a feather. I was just bored today thought I would go through a couple of rolls of dollars. I've been trying to compare with others and also searching to find this error but no luck. Would like to here other thoughts on this thanks.
  7. I've been messing around for a few hours and came up with this shot of the MM. It looks close to a RPM-017. This is so much fun, this hobby gives me multiple things to do.
  8. Would this be a RPM-009. There are die chips on the reverse on the last three columns. I would assume them are markers do to a RPM. Thanks
  9. Looked at the link, thanks JP. I'm thinking we're right die deterioration and maybe MD. I'll hang on too it for a bit and study it for awhile. Interesting piece though.
  10. Hi there everyone, would this be die deterioration doubling. The forehead, nose, chin and eye is looking not normal. Thanks for any advice on this.
  11. Thanks Tom, just happen to stumble across these. I was looking for the shadow D RPM but no luck there either. O well back to hunting.
  12. Thanks Greenstang, I was leaning towards die polishing also. Interesting peice.
  13. Hi everyone, couldn't help but to show these. I opened a roll of 1956- Ds and came across these different pompadours. Most I have out of the roll is pointed and connected to his forehead. And only eight I found with out the point. I'm trying to do alot of searching on this like going back to the 55s and 57s just to see the difference. I might be going a little overboard here , but could there be something about this that I don't know. Thanks for any suggestions on this.
  14. Hi everyone, by doing my research I'm thinking this is a scam. I'm thinking, could I get in trouble for having this. Just saying ,because SGS was in alot of trouble and was raided for fraud. Anyway thought I would share and get some feedback on this. Thanks
  15. In my neck of the woods, nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming by state law can't charge sales tax on siver coins. Interesting ,wondering what state that was.
  16. Have a quick question, when checking the metal of the coin , is it safe to use the gold and silver test. I know weight tells all. But can weight be a little tricky sometimes. It makes me feel I wouldn't want to scrape the side of the coin neither, by using the liquid test. thanks
  17. I have everything I need incase I come across another ancient coin, except what to use to check the diameter. I'm getting there tho.
  18. I signed up, and active on the forum, did was supposed to. Just waiting for the administrator to give me privileges to start posting pics and asking questions.
  19. Thanks guys, I had bad experience sending stuff in to be looked at, so I'm trying to figure out what to do with this. Just saying I have two choices, leave it be at the grade it has or send it in and have a lower grade with the possibility of a variety. Why I'm I saying this, is because the coin is damaged. It took a huge hit between the V shape of the wings mainly on the right wing. If you need better photos let me know and I can provide them. I really do appreciate all the advice you all are so helpful.
  20. Hi Coinbuf, appreciate you taking time to look at this. I don't want to be a pest about this, but when you say split serifs, do mean something like this in the photo here. Just curious thanks.
  21. You had me worried there for a minute, yes it on the plastic.
  22. I'm not good on seeing DDOs , but this one was questionable. From seeing alot of mechanical doubling, this has a different look to it. It might not be, but I thought I would ask. Thanks Joe
