  1. I got this one from pocket change. With all that gunk on the coin, made me sanitize my hands. Never know what is going through your hands dealing with change.
  2. Thanks everyone, one day hopefully I find a double die variety.
  3. Thought this would be interesting to show. Tried to get the whole "in god we trust" in one pic. Stuff like this is so fun to come across and keeps me hungry to keep hunting. I know the dies now are just one press squeeze making these. But dang , sometimes looks like real true doubling.
  4. Hi everyone, I know this would be a die chip and know there's no above face value. Theres a Die chip on the far right of mountain, but what's got me wondering is the point between the second and third trees right to left. Could that possibly be a dd or just a very small die chip. I took a photo of a normal coin which is the first pic you see. Hope that would help a little. Thanks for any advice.
  5. I went through that same roll and found this one. Don't know whether or not if that lamination came from this coin. But what a coincidence, I'm pretty sure it would be hard to prove though.
  6. Hi RJO, yeah we were talking about if it was raised or not. Thought it might be a four. But I took it as die chips with what was said. But I couldn't see die chips all over that coin. So to be sure I wanted someone to have a closer look with the coin in hand. No offense to anyone's thoughts on this coin, but just getting better knowledge on what is the exact error taken place on this coin. There's no reason to send in something like this to get evaluation but did anyways before throwing it back in circulation. But instead I'm putting it in my error collection.
  7. So I sent this coin in, just to get another opinion ,that way they had the coin in hand. Lamination through 5 in date, and Extreme abrasion doubling around neck , chin, lips. Interesting piece, on to hunting again. Thanks everyone
  8. Thank you Sandon, appreciate the good information. Here's a shot straight up and down with the scope. Hope this helps a little bit.
  9. I opened a roll of 57s, and I'm not sure what's going on around the neck and chin. The neck look's like some kind of shifting, but not sure. And does the 5 in date look like some kind of numeral in front of the hump of the 5. I was thinking a 4,, but it can also be die break maybe. I'm possibly off on the whole diagnosis lol. Thanks for any advice.
  10. Hi everyone, been away for a few months. Had to spend the summer to catch up before winter. Even though I love this hobby, we got to survive right. I've been keeping my head in a few coin books though. A lot of interesting stuff I didn't know. So my question? is this dime been altered, like sand blasted or anything in that nature after it left the mint. Reverse is normal, I was reading another thread and greenstang and Bob pointed out some good tips. As you all know I use that information and learn from it. Saying that it would be unlikely to find a error like this . Thanks for any information on this.
  11. Yeah, I opened 2 rolls of 57s and that one stood out. Don't know if it's a die crack or doubling. Couldn't find another one like it. Still trying to research but not really coming up with anything. It might be die deterioration or somewhat pushed over to the right. Idk, don't want to give up on this one, but I'm running into dead ends.
  12. It's the earlobe at the bottom. It's probably just a die crack going around the earlobe. But also looks like doubling. Like I said I might be wrong.
  13. I think I possibly found a double ear. I could be wrong, but sure looks like one. Any suggestions on this coin if maybe a die crack or something I'm not seeing. Interesting and pretty cool to find this. Thanks Joe
  14. Tj it is a die crack, it goes from rim up the stock and around to the upper rim.
  15. Yeah, figured I would open them and check out what I had.
  16. This is to funny a die crack straight up and down on the tail of the 5 in date. I'm not sure if this could be a RPM-002. Thought i would ask anyways. Interesting stuff.
  17. Thanks JP, I was seeing the same. When I opened the roll, there pretty much all like that on the reverse. Didn't mention anything about it, just thought it was normal.
  18. I was just goofing around and having some fun. But came up with this cool coin, it's a die crack. I guess this would be close to a Crimson type dollar sign. Interesting find , still hunting.
  19. Incase you missed it, at the top of the page of the forum, what you need to know about posting coin for inquiry by JKK says in there, 1. Tell us what you know, or what you believe to be the case, about the coin. It's okay to be incorrect. 2. Come prepared to accept responsive answers. Of course there's other good one's, but these two I see alot of newbies either not seeing or skipping this part. Obviously everyone is familiar with this coin you have in hand. Just saying.
  20. The only one im seeing different is the top left coin. Here's a close up, looks like something going on behind the tail of the five.
  21. I looked at all three coins, and all three are the same AMs. Doubled checked with other 54s. That would have been a cool variety .
  22. I've been looking these over since I opened the roll 4 days ago. I just can't see anything that would be unique. Hmmm
  23. I have three coins with die chip in the nine. There's a dot over the Y in liberty ,and a dot under the one in the date to the left. And just a little to the left of that dot There's another dot. All in the same position on all three coins. Doing a little research on these and about die dots would be markers for varietys. The thing is, I'm not seeing RPMs or DDs or anything for these to be somewhat a variety. Some call these dots a die chip and or die gouge. Pretty interesting.
  24. Question , when there's scratch marks like this one on the obverse , does this mean it's been cleaned. And the mint mark looks like it's been shifted over to the right. Or would this possibly be a true rpm. I looked on variety vista but nothing looking like this one in hand. Thanks for any advice.
  25. Just found this today, an actual booger/die chip on the obverse of the coin. Didn't know die chips could make some areas of the coin unique. I know this coin isn't pretty, but not bad for a circulation find.
