2020-D Quarter "Stone in Lap" die chip
Hinkle replied to Hinkle's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
-
I thought this was pretty cool. I seen on line at another one and it had a huge die chip in the same location.
-
Would this be a die chip, or die clash I'm not sure about this one. Any help would be appreciated thanks. The sun has something going on the left side of it.

Those are cool as heck. Never knew kids had to pay for rides to school. I took the short bus to school, ahahahah. -
Constantivs-ll Roman 348-351 A.D. small Bronze
Hinkle replied to Hinkle's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
I saw where one was sold for 200 but I'm thinking somebody from another country purchased it. So I think there 200 is different than USD 200. -

Thanks JKK, I've seen alot of ancient coin's on line and your right there not all that valuable. Like you said unless it the right one's. I just picked this up so I can have something way back. Definitely I'm going to ask for your guidance before purchasing anything ancient. Just doing things the cheap way because of my budget. And never know what you might pick up by buying cheap. -

Ohhhh wow , what did I do wrong. Is this fake. -
I think I got the title on this thread right. Just looking for more insight on this coin. I have no knowledge on ancient coin's. I carefully took it out of a 2x2 and put it in a better 2x2. In the process I took the best clean photos shots that I can. I did purchase this but not near a hundred bucks. But I saw on line these are going around 200 bucks. I feel I got a good deal. I hope anyways. Thanks

I'm going through some of my world coin's and thought this one was a little unusual. It looks like brass to me. Is this fake/replica. It doesn't weigh and looks very odd. Any information would be helpful thanks.

Twenty-five Cent 2005, Coin from Bahamas "Extra Finn"
Hinkle replied to Hinkle's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Thanks GBrad, also thanks for the link. Yeah it's a die clash, thought this one was pretty cool. Especially when you looking through some stuff you had awhile. It's just interesting to find stuff like this on world coins. But still hunting like usual. -
2008-D Alaska Quarter "Extra Claw"
Hinkle replied to Hinkle's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Thanks greenstang, yeah I know there die chips making it look like another claw. I'm reading up on this and some people are calling it a error and some are saying it's a variety. I'm confused -

Also wondering if these are varieties. Thought this one was a good find. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I don't know if this is a error or variety. I saw another quarter on line but not like this one. Thought this was a cool find.

2005-D Nickel Ocean in View DDR
Hinkle replied to Hinkle's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Thanks Fenntucky Mike, this is why I don't use a scope, it's a waist of time. Unless it's major in hand, I don't like to bother with it. I try to use my scope for a little bit closer looks at better errors/varieties. Looking for DDO/DDR is hard under a scope. There's alot on line they say are DDs but I still don't see it but MD or something else. But still hunting for cool stuff. -
I was looking at this coin in hand and seen some disturbance between the tree limbs. So I was doing some deep inspection ahahahah. Looks like an extra limb in tree, and an extra rock to the left of coin. This coin has seen its day. I did research on the 2005 D DDR but none existed at this time. But I could be wrong on that. What would you all think on this, thanks.
-
I don't think this is it, but it sure looks close. I'm comparing with other Bisons and there pretty much different in that area on the others. Thought I would share and get a bit of input before throwing it back in circulation. Thanks

2010-P Mount Hood Quarter "Steam"
Hinkle replied to Hinkle's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
I meant highway 97 not 99. I guess we lose some memory fast when you don't live in the state for some time. -

Yeah, my brother played football for maupin. That's funny I worked on the Rajneesh camp. I heard alot of story's and his people still camping out on there. It's now a huge Christian camp. I used to live in and own couple places in shaniko off the 99, A town of 18 .it was easy to get to the camp were I lived. Yes looking east from that highway don't remember it much but if that's the same highway I've been on, then yeah I know what you're talking about, beautiful look at hood. And there's also a beautiful waterfall on 80 or is it 84 can't remember , it's along the Columbia river. -
