a lot of modern bullion today has face value on it but price of silver alone minted into the coin exceeds circulating face value

This is the best description I have heard in years on this Forum.  i.e American Silver Eagle (Proof) - $1.00 (Face Value) - U.S. Mint Cost:  $73.00 USD.

the European market grading standards isn’t anything like the USA grading standards

Absolutely correct.  As I stated elsewhere, since the creation of the European Union, Europe has been slowly disassociating themselves from anything remotely American created.  I cannot say whether this is just 'chest thumping' or a definite need to prove themselves more correct, more better and more professional than we here in the States.  But this is just 'My Opinion'.

Given how hard it is to find a European dealer that understands what PVC is,

That statement is 100% on the spot.  Ever since the creation of the EU it seems as if Europe only makes up rules and regulations that are completely opposite of ours.  It's as if the EU had a complete distrust of anything American created.

I won’t recoup my cost unless silver reaches over $60 an ounce ,

I understand.  Of all the so called investments I've dabbled in Silver has been the most disappointing.  I bought 5 ounce bars, I guess in the late 70s or 80s because a 'guy told me' it would sky rocket.  So, if I sold today with Ask at 25.25 I'd be lucky if a half way honest dealer would give me $20.00 an ounce.  Now at the same time I was buying Silver I bought 1 ounce Canadian Maple Leafs and some 5 Ounce Gold ingots.  Been sitting on this stuff since I bought it.

Do you have a complaint?  :slapfight:

I have two separate submissions in.  Both submitted under Regular Tier, according to PCGS, on 7/22/2021.  1 Submission is now in Quality Check.and the second Submission is in Grading.  14 days so far and it is fine with me.  Months ago I became Covidized and received the gift of Patience.  I am now Content.  :insane:

Interesting.  I've dealt with PCGS since they came alive and never had a problem.  Also NGC - no problems there.  I can't remember how many weeks NGC took on my last submission but it wasn't over night.  Just saying.

nobody really following the true spot prices when selling low mintage silver bullion coins

You have got that right.  Spot is at $25. 25  and Pinehurst (who I buy bullion from) is asking $39.02 for a 2021 Type 2 ASE.  All others are $41.00+.  It used to be, pre-Covid, that dealers didn't have such a stretch in their asking prices.  When I bought my Silver, Decades ago, it was really cheap.

As for buying from the U.S. Mint is just crazy when I can buy less expensive from a Dealer.

I don't understand how you cannot see that making modern coins a bit harder to get actually benefits the hobby.

You're not taking into consideration that amount of YN's who got taken in on this Morgan fiasco and were kicked off the Mint Website like so much mulch.  Wonder if they'll stay in the coin hobby or look some where else.  Or perhaps they will make a career of collecting State Quarters.

Looks like the D & S versions are sold out in under 30 minutes.

I'm not sure what the Mint did to upgrade their system as it was just as infuriating as in the past with it continuing to sign me out every time an order failed and accusing me of being a bot.

Exactly what happened to me the last time.  Gave up and didn't even try this time.  Sad state of affairs at the US Mint.

Remember that right now is not the best time to be buying Morgan’s

Bought a 1921 Morgan @ PCGS MS 64 in a Gen 3 Holder for $80.00.  Sounded about right to me.  But you are right.  EBay is alive with increased prices on 21 Morgan and Peace.

The 2021 peace and Morgan’s are coming.

According to comments on this ATS many people claiming their orders have been cancelled.  Trust the United States Mint to mess things up.  :insane:

  11. I wouldn't be celebrating after paying $35.00 for a coin that should only sell at 'Melt'.  You'd be lucky if a Dealer gave you $15.00 for it.

For example, if the spot price of silver is at $20 an ounce, a Morgan Dollar would have an intrinsic or melt value of $15.47 (not accounting for any wear and tear which may have reduced the amount of silver still present in the coin). Many of them through history have been removed from circulation and melted due to their silver content.
