Thanks, Bugmann1974;
I stumbled accross it while visiting a few websites
and although I have another 1905-S Dime in 58, I
just couldn't resist that coin. It almost takes my
breath away.

Newest addition to the dime set....

Bob,
Great 1913 Lincoln - Matte Proof ?
Good eye Mike. It is a PR66 RB, unfortunately for me it belongs to Jack Slattery (Curly) from ATS. It's even more beautiful in hand.
Great coin with great images. I have never handled a Matte Proof Lincoln before - and the coin's surfaces are so pristine - I would have thought at least a 67 RB. The color is beautiful as well.
The coin's surface texture is what I thought unusual and nothing like any
mint state Lincoln I've seen before.
I'm very thankful that you posted this 1913 cent.

While I'm here - why not another Barber.... ?.....

NEWP for the Half Dollar set...

Thanks for the great image of the 1893 Dime
and the Vermeule's quote. I had never read that
and it sums up my feelings very well on this series.

Great looking 1893 V Nickel and Dime !
-
Just upgraded my 1894 Quarter with this beauty:
-
Just picked this coin up
and its a nice PL - but PCGS
doesn't hand out that designation
for anything less than Morgans...
Its in a PCGS MS 64 Holder.
Just wanted to add the holdered image:
-
New quarter - upgrade to my AU 55:
-
Thanks for the Kudos - it was a lot of fun putting this set together.
I never thought the 1897-O would have been the stopper - but one
presented itself quicker than I thought. Still - the AU 58 grade just
isn't available for that date. I've never seen one [ certified ]
in 15 years of collecting Barbers. [ My raw 1897-O was BB'd at
PCGS last year as A/T......Its been in a Dansco for over twelve
or thirteen years and the rim toning is spectacular. ]
I've got a lead on another Half set - details to follow.

I really love that Monroe- great rim toning...actually that's
one of the nicest Monroe's I've seen - regardless of grade !!
Great pick up.
I just added this coin to my Dime set - can't register it yet
as NGC says it still belongs to someone else - which is
no problem, really. They'll take care of notifying the old
owner and get it transferred to my set.
What is momentous about this coin is that it
completes my certified set ! My other set still
is in the Dansco - and all the coins are toning
beautifully. I just hated to break up a complete
raw set [ I really mean to say...I HATE HOLES
in an album.... ]
I really wanted an AU 58 - but this one will have to do:
-
About an hour ago - I located the last dime needed
for my certified Dime collection - the 1897-O - this
exact coin sold at Heritage a couple of years ago -
and I was able to pick it up for a few dollars less today.
I was looking for an AU 58 - but - they just ain't out there.
Here's the PCGS MS 62 - completing the set:
-
This is the last coin I picked up from "the group of Ten" -
its a duplicate to my other 1907-P in PCGS 58 - which
I misplaced. [ its not in any of the SDB's - I must have
squirreled it away somewhere in the house. ]
Anyhow - here is a decent PCGS 62 - not nearly as
pretty as the other one in 58 though.
The first image is of the newp: MS 62
The second image is of the missing AU 58

I had a few eBay bucks to get rid of - and as I have not added
a Mercury Dime in over a year to my album...I thought this was
a decent looking coin...
