  1.

    Dwaine - Thanks for bidding on the Pancreatic Research

    auction - a very worthy cause. I also won a lot - but the

    image is too large to post.

    Dean - Congrats on completing the Classic Head Half Cent Set.

    I throughly enjoyed looking at your collection. Great job.

    I usually add my NEWPs to the Barber Thread - but I'll post

    a fairly new coin here:

  2. The 1889 "V" Nickels are not for sale... sorry.

    Here's a tough little dime I just picked up:

    Edit to say - again I don't understand why the images are not showing;

    just the attachments.

    I'll retry and see what happens - sorry.

    EDIT:

    I'm sorry I couldn't just edit this Post

    but its past its date for editing.

    I had the images of the 1902-O Dime

    resized. I hope they attach now.

    I tried to post the image at PCGS and

    the images are in the wrong file - although

    its a JPEG file.

    Here goes nothin'... :kidaround:

  3. EDIT:

    I wasn't sure if I had already posted this Half Dollar;

    as it turned out, I had. I apologize for the double post !!

    I've deleted the images attached to this Post.

    Just upgraded my Grandfather's Birthyear Proof Set

    I picked up this 1889 Half in PCGS PR 65 CAM @ Stack's

    Baltimore Sale.

    The coin is much - much nicer in hand - and the scratches

    seen are on the holder.

    The coin will be sent back to PCGS for reholdering and

    True View Images.

  4. Old Peublo,

    Nice 1889 Nickel - its one

    of my favorite dates - my Grandfather

    was born in 1889.

    Boiler,

    Fantastic Proof Dime !!

    Interesting you should mention your Grandfather! The set I am trying to complete is a inheritance from GrandDad! When I got the set in one of those old blue "press the coin" cardboard plates it was 60% complete. I have added the rest of the coins , Plus upgraded the "poor" coins that were in the set.

    I will pass the set to my son when it complete.

    Here are a couple of my 1889's /// First image PR= NGC 66 &

    Second one MS = NGC 64

  5.

    Its the J1763. My fellow collector-friend, DrPete,

    imaged the coin when he had a private session

    with the head curator of the Smithsonian.

    DrPete spent quite a few hours alone examining

    and imaging the US Collection of Barber Halves.

    After examining the collection, he noticed the

    Barber Half Collection was incomplete. I believe

    it was missing the 1907-O.

    In gratitude for the privilege of examining the National

    Collection, he donated a high grade example of the

    missing date.

    BTW, DrPete's collection is far superior to the National

    Collection, it just doesn't contain the unique pattern.

    Speaking of which, Barber Halves is on the docket now;

    here's my most recent addition to my primary Half Dollar set:
