Those are some fabulous patterns, Sir Payne!
Thanks for sharing these patterns. Its a very rare treat.

Bob,
I'm just putting together a choice AU 55+ certified set -
although AU 58 is my grade of choice. Its rare to be able
to acquire so many choice AU coins at the same time.
I also have the same quality coins in raw state in a Dansco
which I started back 15 years ago. I love the raw set and hate
to break it up.

I received the Baltimore Stack's auction catalog and there's
a nice 1892-O Micro O listed.
Edited to add: This NGC 62 - sold for $19,000 plus 15% Buyers Fees.
A bargain, IMHO.
The NGC 62 Micro O failed to sell - or for that matter - failed to receive
a bid on the Stack's auction of 3/23/09.
Very tough coin to locate - and once sold - it may not resurface again
for many years. The consignor, HLRC, will be happy to discuss terms
on this coin for anyone so inclined.
PonyExpress8 & Elbesaar discussed this coin at great legnth while at FUN
this past January. PonyExpress8 was seriously thinking of buying the NGC 62
as its a good shot at a 63 - but - I bought the Shireman PCGS MS 63 - and PonyExpress8 bought Elbesaar's PCGS AU 55. Leaving the NGC 62 flapping in the breeze.

Gorgeous Seated half Mike.
What was the reason for the target date of 1889?
My Grandfather was born in 1889. Although pleased with the Half
already in the set, the low POP of this coin pushed me to upgrade.
As a side note, my Grandmother was born in 1898 and I upgraded
the Philadelphia version of the Half in my Mint Set, from MS 64 to MS 65.
-
Just upgraded the Half in my 1889 Proof Set.
Currently I have a PCGS PR 64. This newp is
in a PCGS 65 CAM - which happens to be a
POP-TOP with 3 in 65 CAM and None Finer in CAM.
[ Edit to change the POP total; the catalog said it was a
POP 2 coin; I just checked the PCGS POP Report and
its really a POP 3 coin. ]
The marks are on the old holder. Its going back to
PCGS for True View imaging and a new holder.

A fellow Barber Dime collector is upgrading his set
and replacing his AU 58's with MS coins.
I was able to pick up five coins I needed for the
Certified Collection.
The following are all PCGS 58's:
[ because of space limitations of only four
images per post - I'll break up the newps. ]
1899-P & 1908-O attached:

(thumbs u that Barber half has a great look! Congats onthe album compleation, it must be a beauty.
Thanks Bob & Fishfinder - the Barber series is my favorite as you realized
and this 95-S finishes a ten month journey. Most of the coins were certified
by the major TPG's - and I cracked them out.
I've put together three sets of circulated Halves -
and am very - very slowly working on a Dansco
set of Halves in AU+ ; some were BB'd in the past
- some were raw and I didn't think they'd holder.
Here's one that I added some time ago that I bought off
of another collector in Columbia, South Carolina -
[ he submitted it raw to ANACS and it got MS
Details - Cleaned ] Its a nice MS 63 with booming luster.
Call it what you will - its a keeper regardless of what ANACS thought.
