physics-fan3.14,
Very interesting story. Thanks for sharing it.
I have to laugh though, I never find any "D" [ Denver ]
minted coins in Florida - and your Dad locates a
buried 1906-D dime !!

The Dansco album is complete and
all are equal to the certified coins I have been posting recently.
Can you post a pic of the completed Dansco?
I'm on Cape Cod and my collection is in Florida in the SDB's.
I've never taken images - but this Fall, I hope to take a class
in imaging.

Truly I was only joking, I enjoy great coins with great pics! Everyone who knows me knows that for sure.
Sorry if I took any offense - I have always felt that I may have been
over doing it by posting my Newps - or older images. I'm obsessed
with the types in all denominations and am always looking - either for
upgrades or additions.
I've assembled three sets of halves - and have sold off coins that I have
upgraded. My better set in AU/MS is almost complete in the final grade
I want the set to be in. I have five coins in 53-55 that I want in 58 - or if none
are available in 58 - then I'm interested in 63-65's.
I'll cool it for awhile and post the other new dimes I just bought which
complete my set [ sans the 1897-O in 55-58 ] which is a duplicate set
to my raw set in a Dansco album. The Dansco album is complete and
all are equal to the certified coins I have been posting recently.
My Quarter set is also under revision - and I need a half dozen to get this
set in the grade I'd like. I was recently offered a really nice upgrade for my
1896-S which I have in PCGS 53 - with another in PCGS 62 - but I feel the ask price is just too steep [ IMHO ] but the seller came down $2,000 - but he still
needs to sharpen his pencil.
I feel alot better now that I realize you were just "hazing" me. I didn't want
to continue to post images if everyone thought I was overdoing it.
Happy hunting everyone !

I got all exited when I saw the date, but, alas, I see no "S."
Great looking coin, though! (thumbs u
If you squint your eyes really hard you'll see an S.
Its in the word: States ....

Can we just rename this thread the "Elabasaar Thread"?
Who's Elabasaar ? Its Elbesaar.
No - I would not like to have this renamed.
It does seem as if I am about the only active collector
of Barbers though. I encourage everyone to add to
this Thread.
There have been over 11200 hits on this Thread
but only 430 +/- posts.
There are over 2800 posts to the Barber Thread
accross the street - [ also, an unknown number of hits ].
If everyone feels that they would rather not have me post
anything from my collection - so be it.

This coin could also be placed under new aquisitions.
I have studied this coin carefully and compared it to other V nickels of higher grade and have decided that this coin has the eye appeal.
Cheers
Very clean nickel...nice pick up.

When it rains, it pours.
I was offered all but one of the missing dates
in my certified dime collection.
The images are pretty small - but here goes:
[ Can only show four images per post ]
Edit: Told you the images were small...
.
Ok:
# 1 = 1892-S AU 58
# 2 = 1895-P AU 58
# 3 = 1899-S AU 58
# 4 = 1902-O AU 55

Very nice leeg, with classic 1958 mint set toning.
Very nicely toned Franklin.

Leeg...I really like that Lincoln !!!
I've been looking for one like that for awhile now
for my Father's Birth Year Set.
