    To keep this Barber oriented...

I just completed my second tier Half set in VF and above

with the addition of this 1905-O Half - which just got out of

the grading room ATS - now in a PCGS XF 40 holder:

This date is a BEAR to locate in almost all grades. It was the last date

I needed for my better set - and I was blessed to have been offered an AU 58 [ I owned an MS 64 - which is not too hard to loacte ] - then shortly after getting the AU 58 - I found another in AU 58 - but have never found another since. I did locate a VF 35 raw for the Whitman album - and have a F 15 in PCGS - which was/ is in my second tier collection.

I'm beyond thrilled to be able to add this date into my 2nd set in XF 40 !!!

  2. Chris - you remember my raw Barber Dime collection in the Dansco album that I brought to the Ft Myers coin club show a few years back ?

Well, I have since worked on a certified collection and completed it a few months back - but - I decided to have the raw set holdered; the collection was on display at Holsonbake Numismatics at FUN for three days - and it generated alot of interest.

How could I forget it?!! It is a wonderfully beautiful set.

    Chris

Okay - here's the first page - page two will be along soon.

BTW: Missing coins are already holdered by PCGS or NGC.

  3. I hardly own a bank - just a working collector like the rest of the

    Forum.

If you ever drove thru Naples, you'd see 30M homes to 100K homes.

Its a great place during the Winter months - but hotter than Hades in

the Summer...which is why most of us disappear for three months or so.

I had a great time at FUN and picked up some great upgrades - most

of which are being sent out to be professionally imaged.

However, here is an upgrade from the Heritage internet only auction:

This afternoon, I confirmed the purchase of this coin, also in a PCGS 58 holder:

Here's a major upgrade for the Half collection...

1902-O PCGS MS 64 CAC and it has Proof Like surfaces !!

I hope to get a few AU 58's with in this submission

to upgrade my certified set.I'm also having the entire

Dansco album imaged - and I'll post it here once I get it.

I spent three exciting days at FUN and met quite a few

Barber collectors - and the meeting of the BCCS was very well

attended. There was a great show and tell - everyone brought

something to discuss...I brought my 1905-O Micro O Dime in AU 58.

I also was able to pick up a half dozen newps ... no images yet - save one -

which was on the dealer's website:

    1902-OHalfPCGS64CACPL.jpg

Its in a PCGS MS 64 holder with a green CAC sticker.

Its got deeper amber proof like - cameo features - than

the image suggests. It took my breath away when I first

laid eyes on it. One of the better struck 1902-O's I have

    ever seen as well.

Once the other newps are imaged, I'll post those as well.
