I've been working on another set of halves for an old
Whitman Two-Book album and have only a couple
left to add.
Here are four coins - sorry for the small images -
which are being sent to me as I type this. They'll
be cracked out PDQ once received:
Again - sorry for the tiny images; here is the breakdown top to bottom:
1893-O VF 35
1896-P VF 30
1899-O VF 30
1903-O XF 40

Fishfinder - Tell me about the 1899-O Quarter - raw or holdered ? Grade ?
I love that look. The Half and the Dime are nothing to sneeze at either but
that Quarter really jumped off the screen at me.

Here's an old friend which I repurchased from another Barber collector friend
who wasn't doing anything special with it - and since I'm working on another
set of Halves and locating a 1905-O in original condition is no easy feat, I bought
this back from him.
These are his images:

Looks MS from the pics......must be just the slightest rub.....how many do you own now.....like 1000
RE: Barber Dimes:
Modest collection really - I have my Dansco complete
and I'm slowly working on a certified collection in AU 58.
You have to remember that I'm also upgrading my
Quarter and Half Dollar sets too; eventually, my duplicates
do get sold. Maybe that's why you think I have "like 1000"
Its closer to 400 in all sets

Hi Chris,
I try and get away every Summer to the cottage
on Cape Cod; some years its only a week or two,
other years - like last year and this - I got 6-8 weeks
...its all predicated on sales and how busy I am - or not.
This year I made my sales quota by mid March - and then
by July, sales were stagnent...so...off to the Cape I went.
EDIT : EDIT: EDIT: EDIT:
I decided not to have the 2 walkers sent to me because of
the NEWP of the following 1909-O Half in NGC 58.
Both of Broadstruck's Walkers are superior for the grade
and otherwise, I would have been thrilled to have added
them to my collection; however, Barbers are my main interest
and as we all know - we can't buy everything we would like to.

The branch mints coins were not saved to any extent; most collectors
were satisfied with a date set. The majority of 1892 branch mint coins
were well used and very few were saved in mint state and when available
in close to mint state they command a hefty price.
Here's a NEWP for my newest second set:

I was tracking an 1892-O Barber Half Dollar on eBay
for about a week in PCGS VF 25; a perfect coin to
crack out for the Whitman album.
I threw in a bid - got bumped - threw in another bid - got bumped again.
This went on for four bids - and I dropped out - seconds later the coin closed
at $845.00. Far beyond my highest bid.
I was scratching my head about this considering
I had a really nice PCGS VF 35 which I sold to
a collector friend a couple of months ago for $775.
Anyway, I decided to check to see what new coins
were being listed and I came accross this one.
[ image below ].
I only paid $55.00 more for this AU 50 than the VF 25 sold for.
I just couldn't help myself...
I've been cracking out alot of halves for the Whitman,
but I don't think this particular coin will get "the axe".
