Not horrible, but could’ve been better. We really needed Phil Vitale and Pat McBride on that Board. Phil is a stalwart in the Southwest, an Albuquerque Coin Club member, and Pat is a stalwart of PAN. I voted AGAINST the number one vote getter. Dealers have more votes than is healthy. I have made it known that I am a candidate to be the next Parliamentarian, replacing the late great Greg Lyon, if Tom Uram will have me.
My beard is on the return, and I will be taking over the Society of Bearded Numismatists, at the Pittsburgh convention. It will be a quick reorganization meeting, with some really yummy adult beverage door prizes. The Coin of the Year event trails us by only 30 minutes.
I haven’t seen the results yet, other than Tom.
Who decides the coin of the year? I thought that was a Stacks thing.

Definitions and grades evolve over time. So the question I guess is - are you a purest? I would tend to consider defects.

Have fun with it, but go quickly separating the possibles from the rest. You might miss something, but you will save a lot of time and headaches.

I hope I do not offend you, but were "GETO" coins used in specific camps, how scarce are they and are there known counterfeits?
I can answer that one if you’d like. Or we can wait for Olek to answer.

Sovereigns were much more widely known throughout the world and used than U.S. or other European countries coinage. It only makes sense. Melt U.S. - mint sovereigns.

I’d like cents to stick around. I do not collect them nor do I sell them. Here’s a novel thought - instead of inflating everything why not make them mean something. Same with nickels, dimes, quarters and half dollars for that matter.
Then again - i m not crazy about the alloys used for them these days. -

Does anyone know who his successor will be?
I think he may have talked about that in his video interview recently. Link is now outdated.

The far-reaching conversation spans the chance encounter that piqued his interest in coins to CCG’s development as a global collectibles powerhouse. Watch the conversation here. -
What a find. Have to look into this further. A bit hesitant about Govmint.com though.

Pappy - very nice, but hard to find.

What about those of us who would never submit ANYTHING to JA for any reason whatsoever even if he PAID US?
I have never sent anything to JA, but if they paid me? I’d send everything!

Now delayed until mid-May 2024. Sad!

Speaking of which, the unreliability of the resumption of VIP tours at the British Royal Mint (maybe, but I can’t count on it), we have substituted Paris, France for Llantrisant, Wales and the Monnaie de Paris for the Royal Mint. Late September.
Disappointment? Shame.

Gold would probably go up, drag up silver, and they would both increase the price for numismatics.
It's all moot now, since they apparently have a deal.
It was moot from the start - same ole story.

I knew that it was outside the boundaries for the registry sets, but I started dabbling in patterns just to have something others do not that also fits into my collection nicely - even though I cannot include it into a registry set. It is a nice example and I thought you would enjoy seeing it.
