  1. Beautiful coin!!! Thank you so much for posting it to wish Faustina a happy birthday!!! I'm also pleased that it's your first post
  2. Hi Thomas! Well, my knowledge of U.S. currency is somewhat limited, what you have are some Silver Certificates (blue seals and serial numbers) and some United States Notes (red seals and serial numbers). A lot of these notes are still quite common today, though you don't see them in circulation. Going by your photos, you don't have any star notes, which are typically the notes that have decent premiums among these kinds of notes. And that's all I can tell you. I'm going to hope someone much more versed in U.S. currency jumps in here with more information.
  3. Morpheus....you just won the Internet today, my friend!! Well done!!!
  4. Hello Ynnohj, From what I can see in your photos, you have a perfectly ordinary 2003 cent. I see nothing which indicates a doubled die to me. Your coin is worth face value.
  5. DW Lange has it right on all counts.....your coin just took a random hit in the area where a mint mark would be.
  6. In looking at what you have, only the 1964 dime is anything special and that's only because it's 90% silver. All of the other coins are perfectly normal circulation coins that are worth face value.
  7. No worries Karen!! The way I see it, you just took part in building a consensus!
  8. What is an NGC certificate? I've been with NGC since 2010 and I have no idea what you're talking about.
  9. Hi Jaynh, I see nothing that looks like a doubled ear here in any of the photos. I'm just seeing a regular 1988 Lincoln Cent. However, with 1988 and 1988-D Lincolns, it's good to check the reverse for the Reverse of 1989 variety. Here is our host's Variety Plus page on that variety: https://www.ngccoin.com/variety-plus/united-states/cents/lincoln-cents-memorial-reverse-1959-2008/819614/
  10. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me!! It's greatly appreciated!!
  11. And here's a scan of it from my digital microscope:
  12. Hi Lisa. Here's a photo of the carbon spot in question:
  13. Hi Tridmn, Yes, in 1964 proofs were made in Philadelphia. Proof production shifted to San Francisco in 1968. Before that, proofs were made in Philadelphia.
  14. From the pics, the top one looks like a proof and the bottom is a business strike. No SMS coins there. The "1964 SMS" issue is a controversial one but regardless of the controversy, a "1964 SMS", if it exists at all, isn't going to be anything you would just find out in the wild. You have a perfectly normal proof and a perfectly normal business strike.
  15. They're perfectly normal circulated coins. All of the gold-colored small dollar coins produced by the U.S. darken and tarnish like that in circulation.
  16. The bottom one is PCGS. What NGC calls Ultra Cameo PCGS calls Deep Cameo. It's the same thing, but they use different terminology for it.
  17. Yep. And you can thank Etsy, Mercari and Alibaba for much of that.
  18. I'm with the others....definite die chip and definitely cleaned. It's a good reference piece for a die chip, but it's only worth face value.
  19. TPRC has it absolutely correct. As far as I know, Details grades never have a numeric component. It's just the MS, AU, XF and then details and the problem.
  20. Oh, that one's SO TRUE Kurt. Etsy is a total cesspool.....it's the vile, disgusting pit of raw sewage that the "Pac Man" cent and many other horrors emerged from.......I wish Etsy would get shut down or at least would make it so people couldn't sell coins there.
  21. I see nothing on that coin which indicates a DDO of any kind. It's jut a regular 1972 Lincoln Cent worth face value.
  22. That coin is definitely damaged. It has no value.
  23. This guy will worry about the bimillennial tribute for me. He'll still be around. I won't. And, there, I Greenland Sharked my own thread this time!
  24. Hi Lisa, Thanks so much for your kind and quick reply. I will take photos of it tonight and post them up here for your review. ~Tom
  25. Yes, indeed......in another 109 years. In all honesty, I'm not worried about that one
