ldhair got a reaction from Henri Charriere in 1995 W Silver 🦅 is this a 🔑 date
Fun coin. Those that bought the proof gold set that year got the Silver Eagle free. Some didn't want the coin and just bought the regular proof gold set. They messed up.Â

1887 proof Indian cent, ANACS graded Proof Details, Recolored (net Proof 60) in old small holder. The color is a bit "off", especially on the reverse, but the coin is still sharp and attractive:

This has got to be a candidate for the 2024 Most Wasted Time And Typing On The NGC Boards.

See that little "D" beneath "FIVE CENTS" on the last photo posted, which I assume is of the reverse of the coin purported to be a "Special Strike"? It is the mintmark of the Denver mint. The coin is a 1927-D, not a 1927, in Very Good condition, with a retail value of $6 per Coin World and $10 per the NGC Price Guide. The pieces authenticated as "Special" or "Experimental" strikes were coined at the Philadelphia mint and had no mint mark. If the OP has read any numismatic literature to the contrary, he should please cite it.
I can't believe that the OP is serious. I don't know why he is wasting his own as well as our time.Â

Learning to grade, I submit, runs a close second to learning to ATTRIBUTE, that is, knowing what one is, AND IS NOT, looking at.Â

I think the Op is just upset that nobody believes him and that's understandable. He knows nothing about the members here or their skills. He is new to the hobby and knows just enough to start making stupid costly mistakes. Everyone goes thru that stage. There are many members in this thread that have learned over a lifetime of study and much of that was before there was even an internet.Â
This is a giant hobby with thousands of directions a person can go. In my opinion, learning to grade is the number one most important thing. Without that skill, many mistakes will be made. Even with good grading skills, mistakes will be made. Â

I’ve been doing it for 61 years. I was grading coins waaaaaaay before there was an Internet to misinform me. You need to look at thousands of coins. NOT PICTURES OF COINS! Coins. In your hand. In proper light.

I like it. No, I LOVE it. It's very distinct.

I purchased this 1903 Indian cent at the ANA convention in August 2003. It is housed in an old, small size ANACS holder conservatively graded MS 63 RB with a full strike and nearly full mint "red". It cost me all of $50.

Longer than you have been alive. None of the coins you have posted are proofs. Hope you learn more before spending any more money on coins.Â
