Walkerfan
With my latest purchase of the 1885 3cn I was finally able to complete my 3cn collection. While this is a XF45 I am very happy with it but hope to one day is able to upgrade. Below are my 3CN sets Mint Proof Errors and varieties Patterns I enjoyed looking at your 3CN sets. Great set that is displayed VERY well!

pianoman
Both my wife and a numismatic friend thought I should start collecting seated Liberty dimes to extend my complete dime collection(1892-to-present), further back in time. Yikes at the costs!! This is a recent favorite pickup from 1888. Most but the very key dates will be raw. copper toning
Not really anything I needed or wanted, but I get to the coin shop very infrequently so I guess this was an impulse buy. Low price and the holder is in great condition. I hate walking out with nothing.
Hard Times
Sometimes very worn coins can be spectacular. Here is an example of one IMO. The luster which is hard to capture - where the luster bands rotate under the light along the edges of the obverse and through the whole fields of the reverse. The toning is rich and the images are accurate for the color bands. The wear is consistent with F12 hence the grade. Best, HT

Elbesaar
There is a very good reason why I have my coins professionally imaged... now - you are looking at two of them.... Just picked this up at a coin show in Fresno, CA - from Kevin Kaufmann of Choice Numismatics. Edited November 6, 2013 by Elbesaar
robec1347
Nice Morgan Mike. I was there Saturday. Wish I could have seen you. I almost bought something from Choice Numismatics, but they wouldn't accept CC's for purchases $55 and under.
Elbesaar
I was there, sorry I did not meet you. I was assisting Glenn Holsonbake who was sharing the corner table with Choice Numismatics. ( I was the "Old Guy" at the table )... The credit card situation was that the company charged 3% for each swipe of the card. Coupled with an 8% Sales Tax that the Sellers had to swallow; one thing I quickly realized was in the initial negotiation was (1) are you paying cash or (2) are you paying by credit card. The sellers still had to absorb the tax. It's pretty hard to even make a couple of dollars. If it were not for one major sale, the table was showing a loss for the weekend. Oh, well, I am sorry things didn't happen for you.
robec1347
( I was the "Old Guy" at the table )... Since we share the same birthday (both day and year), I was the "Old Guy" on the other side of the counter. The coin I left behind was just a trinket. I just didn't want to go home empty handed. I did tell him to charge me the $3 he initially discounted for me, but no go. Next time I'll bring an old fashioned check.
Elbesaar
Bob, I was texting them shortly after I read your comments. They would like to address the situation. Neither of them remember a credit card transaction other than the one they ran for one of Glenn's clients. Both Kevin and Luis will be applying to become members here and will be in touch with you directly. They are both nice guys, YNs that I met in Summer Seminar at the ANA in Colorado Springs over the last two years. A funny aside, I showed a 1997 Lincoln Cent in an NGC thick holder because it was a partial OBV Brockage and was a multiple strike and it's thickness had to be just under a half inch. The customer asked, what are you asking for it ? Told him "four ninety five" ... He blurts out : "I'll take it !!" ... I proceed to write it up for him, asking him the all important question of the hour : Cash or Credit Card ? He says cash. As I am about to hand him the coin, he hands me a Five Dollar bill. I think he was pretty embarrassed ... And I was as well ; from that moment on, I said XxxHundred and xxx Dollars when I quoted prices. Good chatting with you... Sorry for the personal conversation on an open forum...
copper toning
four ninety five. That must have been a very awkward situation for him. Surely he was new to collecting?
Elbesaar
At first, I also thought so, then I thought he really was pulling my leg but he said he'd been collecting Lincoln errors for years and was aghast at the price. I know I have bought raw off center Lincolns myself for $5 to $8. But, a Brockage and Die Cap errors - even on a common coin still runs in the many hundreds of dollars. Good thing I didn't bring my Die Cap Barbers. I don't think he'd be revivable from his stroke. Edited November 6, 2013 by Elbesaar
CoinCast-migration
HI robec1347, I think I have chatted with you before on CoinTalk. We honestly don't remember and situation, but I had my credit card reader with me and would have gladly taken a card (maybe with some additional negotiating like Elbesaar said it is expensive). I actually don't remember having any $55 coins, but if you remember what it is I will look for it.

morganguru
My final attempt at shooting this. Posted it across the street. It was in a NGC 64 holder, pretty dang close to what it looks like in-hand. Nothing can compare to viewing a coin held in your hand, JMO. The obverse has a more PL appearance than the reverse.
