I had my latest Quarter imaged ...

Its just a really nice coin ... although I have an AU 55 CAC,

its just a boring coin - no real life to it - so, when I saw this,

I knew I had to grab it...

I bought three upgrades at David Kahn's table while at FUN.

The previous owner is a friend of mine - { unbeknownst to me, regretfully ! }

and he sent me these images...

I received the TrueView images of my Barber Dime and thought that I would share all three types in my 7070;

OhIH82Wait...

Nice coins, all. I especially like the Dime. I know Paesan likes the

Variety Quarter. Great type coins. Thanks for sharing.

I am a bit remiss in not having posted more of my newer images.

Sorry about that ...

I hardly ever get onto eBay - looking for Halves anyway.

As I only need three upgrades to finish my set off in XF-AU -

I have almost given up locating the three coins I need.

Today - a newly listed 1913-P stared me in the face when I

typed in the date in the Search Box....{ I have a nice VF 30 }

I never thought I'd get so excited about getting this date in XF/AU !!

Yes, every time I think about some of the things I have sold, I could kick myself.

I kept track of the owners of a few coins - and have slowly been buying back a coin - here and there.

The Barber community is still fairly small, and the longer I collect, the more I realize where things are hidden away in collections - and who has what duplicates.

I had a really choice AU 58 of the 93/92 Overdate Dime in AU 58 that CAC'd. I know the current owner - and he'll be buried with his collection. He never sells anything. Can't blame him really.

I decided that it was time I added the overdate back to my set... and picked this one up this evening at the Long Beach Heritage auction.

I enlarged the "3" the size of my hand - its the overdate alright !!

You guys have some beautiful Barbers! The toning on them is amazing.

I just picked up what is essentially my first Barber :)

After taking pictures tonight I noticed what looks like it might be a variety FS-801

All of my coins are NGC other than this, and if it is a variety, would like advise if it would be worth doing a crossover and the designation.

Colorado...

Nice Barber for your first one. That's how I started, I got an AU raw 1892 Half.

But, it cost me only 50c. It was a circulation find.

I found a nice quarter to add to my set....sent it to CAC and it passed !

A good friend bought this coin for a long range investment. He is about

to get involved with a new venture and I arranged for another friend to

purchase this classic rarity.

I was able to locate a nice 1914-S Quarter last night on Great Collections -

Its a VF 30 - and an acceptable fill in should I ever locate an AU 53-58.

When a certain look presents itself, I know I gotta have it.

Most times, Barbers are over dipped and if you are lucky,

the coins are just starting to retone on the edges.

I have this date in a higher grade - but - this speaks for itself.

Spotted this a few weeks ago - and a good friend looked it up ATS - and found it was auctioned a few months back... for over $1500. We both laughed at this outrageous price.

Well it opened at Great Collections at $300.... what is wrong with this picture ?

I threw in my bid - and let it ride... It hammered at $726 plus the juice - yes,

another ridiculous price - but - about half what it originally sold for on Heritage.

Picked up a nice MS example for my Nickel collection.

It's from Choice Numismatics in California. Luis Ramos

and Kevin Kauffman - both YN's I met at the ANA Summer

Seminars over the last three years. Both guys are in college

and deal in coins on a part time basis to raise some cash.

Thanks again, guys !!
