The Mega Thread accross the street has hit over a thousand posts...lets see how quickly we can surpass that figure.

Any Barber designed coin can be shown, including Commems, so, lets have some fun over here showing what you're collecting.

I'll start with one of my quarters:

Since I have completed the Barber half dollar set nearly twice in original VF, give or take a few coins in either F or EF, this could be a long thread. However, I will just post a mini-type set of Barber material in MS/PF. Please note that I haven't found a satisfactory quarter yet. hm

Great coins everyone...

Here's a half that's in my second tier set...although it could just as easily be compared to my first tier set's coin:

Amazing Barbers everyone.

Please pace yourselves though...we want a high Thread Count...multiple

coins in one post will eventually limit the overall number of post-counts.

Unless you own an 1898-O micro-O Barber half dollar or the reverse brokage AU58 S-mint Barber half dollar, which I think is priced at a very fair level, then the 1892-O Barber half is a tough coin to beat on the coolness meter. (thumbs u

I sent this coin into NGC for Presidential Review last January.

They studied it for six months without making a determination.

Certifying a superlative rarity doesn't happen very often.

If this coin had a normal size mint mark they certainly

wouldn't have kept it six months.

The size of the mint mark is a touch larger than that of my

1892-O Micro O but considerably smaller than the normal mint mark.

Sorry for the smallish images - they're all I have at the moment.

One of the most amazing things about the 1893-S Barber half dollar, in my opinion, is that so few folks out of the small world of Barber collectors recognize the true scarcity of the coin. It simply makes me shake my head.
