Found this common dated Dime in 58 for my Everyman set ATS...

This AU 58 came back from CAC _ Approved !!

I believe the images are terrible and that the coin will look great in-hand.

For comparison purposes:

My 1892 Phila...from my raw book...

1892-PDimePCGS62OBV.jpg

1892-PDimePCGS62REV.jpg

A nicer 1892 - and only a 63 ...

This is a 64 - and I believe the nicest one I have - but - looking for a Proof

to add to the date set...

Sweet Isabella, Grey. I had a nice one years ago - but when I sold off the

majority of my sets, it went with the rest - a friend bought it for one of his

clients. I miss it - but not enough to buy another one. Maybe some day, if

I ever teach the course at ANA in Colorado Springs again, The Coinage of

Charles Barber [ my co teacher was Glenn Holsonbake of Americana Rare

Coins in Sacramento ]

I picked up a couple of newps today... a choice Proof V Nickel - in PCGS 64

CAM - CAC - which looks decent - and should fit right in with the balance of

the set....

image_zpsjsl7zbcr.jpegimage_zpsohjryiys.jpeg

Also - a minor upgrade for my 1903-O Dime - its only a MS 62 but I

think its got a better look than a 62 ...IMHO:

I stumbled across this Quarter tonight - and it was a BO - and I think

my offer was fair - and although I already own this date in PC 58

[ ex: Don Willis ] - I couldn't pass this one up for half of what I paid

for the Willis coin.

I do not have any images as yet of the Willis coin, but, as a side note,

that coin did not pass at CAC. I am hoping that this one will.

EDIT: Good news...This CAC'd

I was browsing thru my Dime set - and I realized that I was missing

a pretty common coin - and found a well toned one on eBay...plus:

The eBay Bucks were eating a hole in my pocket ...lol

So, I picked this up for less than a dinner at the local rib place:

Picked up two Nickels - an 1892 in 63 on eBay the other night -

and a 1899 in AU 58 ... both look quite nice - and the images are too

fuzzy - will wait to post them once I have my guy image them.

I also won two Quarters on the weekly Internet Only Heritage Auction

tonight. A spare 1892-PHila in PC 58 CAC -Ty 2 - with amazing toning...

1892-P%20Quarter%20PCGS%2058%20CAC%20Ty2%20OBV_zpsufzkalqt.jpg

1892-P%20Quarter%20PCGS%2058%20CAC%20Ty%202%20REV_zps36h3cgex.jpg....

The AU set was missing a decent 1907-S - I found this pretty acceptable

- at least for the time being -

1907-S%20Quarter%20PCGS%2053%20OBV_zpsnqyaoxe8.jpg

1907-S%20Quarter%20PCGS%2053%20REV_zpsudzkjuk9.jpg

Not thrilled with it - but I have seen worse...as a matter of fact, I just

consigned three other 07-S's to Heritage's Anaheim sale:

AU Details, MS Details and XF 45. I have a wonderful MS 65

but - I'm more of an AU 50-58 collector.

Have been waiting for an 1896-O Dime in 58 to show its face in the open market.

My last set had a beautiful 55 which I sold to my friend Beancounter ( JMW ).

Here's the latest for my current (3rd) set. It's from Dave Kahn. Very happy to

have found it.

Well... this clinches the night - the file is too large to post here.

To top off this inability to post, Photobucket decided to block my

posting any of my coins... a few days later - and a little complaining -

the account is cleared up - and here's the 1910 - Phila Dime in PC 58:

Edit: Coin was sent to CAC and it passed. 09/07/16:

I also heard from my YN who said this coin had no soul, so I picked this

up and plan on including it in a date set desk holder.

That 1896 S is extremely nice for the grade.

Thanks Forest City - I have been searching for an AU 58 - 1896-S for

quite a while...

Its choice for the grade [ IMHO ] and will get sent to CAC when they

get back from their vacation break next week.

Here is my first 1896-S in PC 55 - which I sold to a friend back in 2011.

I have been tracking a couple 1914-S Quarters in AU,

as a good friend offered me his AU 55 which I really

like. However, the ones I was tracking were selling for

quite a bit less than I was going to buy my friend's 55.

I elected to bid on a nice AU 58 - and walked away with it.

I have been looking for an 1893 Nickel in AU 58 [ a true 58 !! ] for

years.... I have an AU that my Grandfather pulled out of change in

the 1940's - but when I submitted it ATS - it was Body Bagged as

Altered Surfaces. Neither my Grandfather, Dad nor I ever touched

this coin other than placing it in an old Whitman Bookshelf Album.

Found the images...attached below:

Well... last night I was looking at Heritage's weekly auction [ which

I rarely look at ] and lo and behold...

image_zpssqnitpmn.jpegimage_zpsjicrelqm.jpeg

....okay ... its coded "94" ....what's that mean ?!

My friend Valente151 visited me over Memorial Day weekend -

immediately after he graduated from college - and before he

was applying to Med School. Knowing full well acceptance into

Med School is a real shoot he is know going thru a second

round of application essays.

He posted one of my coins for me because I couldn't locate the

original seller's images ... so - without further ado - here is an

upgrade from a PC55CAC to a PC58 [non CAC ]

While surfing thru eBay this afternoon, I ran across an AU 58

V Nickel I needed for my Circulated Set ... which I bought from

Ben Todd of Sarasota Rare Coins. { If anyone has not dealt with Ben,

they should...he's a real nice guy and a collector at heart.]

With this addition - it leaves me with just three missing coins in 58

to complete my Circulated Set - one of which [ a 1901 ] I cracked

out of an ICG 58 holder and submitted ATS - which I might see by

Thanksgiving !!
