Looks to me like post-mint damage. However, not being shown both sides, it is impossible to say much that is definitive.

This is the same post that you have in the US and World Coins Forum. It is only necessary to post it once.

None of that has any relevance to anything I wrote. Your item is not a coin, and is definitely not gold. Where you come from is irrelevant to that, so don't try playing that card. Your assertions would be incorrect coming from anyone.

I can verify that this is legit, in case anyone wonders. I'm associated with Talossa and I remember when they had these minted. Zane's a real person and that's his real name. Zane, if you want to market these effectively, you should probably list the composition and diameter/weight (mm and g, please; the coin world works in metric).

I've read that wear can take as much as 5-10% of the original metal off a coin. If yours has nearly no wear, it's kind of light for the issue. If it's well worn, that can be the cause.

People are only obligated to offer evidence if they wish to be taken seriously. If they don't care about that, then it's fair for others not to care what they say. It is not at all childish to ask for evidence; what's childish is to simply dismiss something without keeping an open mind toward evidence that might be presented. If instead someone gets angry, condescending, and dismissive when asked for it, that sends its own message--and it is not one that leads toward credibility.

In other words, you have no evidence and just want to bloviate, expecting to be believed as though you were some oracle--then getting all crabby when challenged.

Cue the name change or new account, and it will begin again.
Seriously, folks, one reason the same people serve us serial doses of ridiculous is because those of you with big hearts keep trying to be kind and help people even when it's clear they just need some ignorade. I use the Ignore User function to designate anyone I've decided no longer to engage, just to remind me going forward. I might read some of the threads (mainly to see if the more saintly regulars will ever learn that they are wasting their time), but direct engagement is off the table unless it's for third parties' benefit. Feed them and they will keep coming back, making up *spoon* and waving PMD and MD stuff at us.

I think it is actually DDT, die doubling trauma. Some visigoths will think you are referring to a banned pesticide, but they probably also drink milk right from the carton.

It's a combination of DDO and DDD. Clearly there is die deterioration doubling, but the separation of the serifs indicates hub doubling as well. The upper loop interior hints that it make actually be tripled. We need sharper, cropped images! And take it out of the plastic!

1896 proof Barber half, mintage 762. Front has hairlines, looks like slider album residue. Probably wouldn't grade above PR-61 for that reason. Reverse is omfgstunning, like above 65 stunning. Thus, PR-61. Maybe 62 if I caught someone on a real good day.

Lacks the sharpness normally found in an EF/AU specimen. I'd say it's a cast counterfeit, and not a very good one.

I'm no expert on Ikes, but it would surprise me very much if that coin merited PR-65, let alone PR-70. I've never heard of that grading service, and I can't tell what might be smudges or scratches on the holder vs. the piece itself, but you might want to scale down your value estimations until a real grading service slabs it.
