  1. Thank you Sandon, yes unfortunately it's not 45 degrees or more. I read that some coin series are more common than others and not so much in others. I know it's only a minor 14-15 degrees but is a die rotation common in war nickels? I read that Jeffersons not so much compared to other coins. That information could have been false or unsubstantiated. Just thought it was an interesting find along with the possible strike through or the lamination as you stated and a cool addition since I didn't notice at first and it wasn't listed as such. Even if it doesn't add much value it's nice to know there was more to the coin than originally thought and I didn't have anything like that in my collection yet
  2. That's cool, worth keeping a note for myself. Probably not worth sending in probably though..it's in an ANACS. Read die rotation is common on Buffalo's and Mercury's not so sure on Jeffersons or war nickels to be specific. Thank you hopefully it looks nice when I get it! It's just graded MS66 no FS designation sadly. I like how it looks though
  3. I was meaning to post this when I had better pictures. I figured I could atleast ask if this is a rotated die and if so by how much? I'm new to rotated dies and the varying degrees. I'm sure this is pretty minor if so. I will post better pictures when I can but if you look at Jeffersons collar the line goes out to the 4 what is this considered?
  4. Not a nice coin just wondering what is going on with the top of 1984 and some of the letters in LIBERTY.
  5. @Hoghead515 @EagleRJO i have before that's what made me give up on a nickel registry I was like yeah there's no way.
  6. I understand and agree thank you though. Yeah a lot of things out there that explain how to also but then they do warn against grading yeah it sucks how some people just want a quick buck..
  7. I do enjoy some full rainbow, neon colors or bulls eyes though i dont know if I would be willing to pay what I see some go for but i would atleast like one.
  8. I see the typical golden toning. Nothing like dramatic rainbow or neon colors that i see on some examples that look beautiful. I was looking at one recently even though it was only MS67+ no FS looked pretty nice though.
  9. Your good, markets change. Maybe demand is just high for now..I haven't been able to snag one so I overpaid but luckily not like some of these. The last two I saw there was a bidding war I folded. Part of the reason I overpaid on this one as well.
  10. It would not grade even close to a MS67+ it looks pretty circulated. I see several nicks and a couple gouges. You would probably need to find a brand new roll to come across one. That's a guideline. Just because it's listed as such it does not mean it would sell for that much. There is much more to it than just the price guides unfortunately. Ex. If I had a sculpture with an estimated value of $1000 but no one has any interest in it or collects what I have. Someone might only be willing to pay $100 for it. You could also have something worth only $100 but someone is willing to pay $200 because they really want what you have. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  11. Well it's here all I can say is it's nice to add to my 1942-P PR TYPE 2. From what I can tell it is neither a DDR or RPM but I could be wrong. I have seen some pretty weak RPM's I can't tell if that's a notch or serif on the S. I see some edges around letters that look less flat or shelf like to me they look bubbled and maybe seperated like the M in UNUM and O in MONTICELLO. I'm pretty sure this is mechanical doubling though but it's so reflective it was straining my eyes too much. I need a scope with monitor.. If anyone sees anything with the serifs or knotches let me know I don't have an eye for it. Thank you for your time but I think this was a bust of a gamble. Not what I thought was in the pictures sadly..
  12. I found a couple more that were just MS65 PL. Thank you for posting more auctions. They are all over the place.. Demand for some people must be high.
  13. I'm not for anything related to this coin. Just out of curiosity how does the process of a discovery coin go for any coin? Is there a process? I have no clue how that works. I'm pretty sure there have been debates and controversy over some new finds or finds that exist but people aren't sure of its origins or authenticity because there are only a couple.
  14. "All I know is that I know nothing." I came here for knowledge, opinions, and communication with others that enjoy the hobby. You can't learn if you only want to hear what you want to hear. People are taking time out of what I assume are their busy lives to spend the coin of their life to try to help/educate one another and I appreciate it! Constructive responses lead to more knowledge, comraderie and information that can lead to hopefully a better conclusion than where we started. I'm sorry for how some of the people on here respond to one another it's counterproductive and life is too short to get into arguements. People can be civil with a little effort. I apologize in advance if my posts are mundane, obvious, ignorant or come off boring. I know time and time again seasoned people on here see the same things and it probably wears them. Thank you all for your time and patience
  15. I saw it too late. I believe it was one of the finer ones known. I could have read the census wrong though. Could be a factor. People must want them if they are paying that much. Two weeks ago or so I saw the same coin I got but it didn't look as nice to me went for $145
  16. I did look at your registry set a few days ago impressive to say the least. CONGRATS!! It made me decide to never try to do the same . How long did that take? I'm sure it was fairly pricey as well. I'm not saying it is..but if that nickel is a possible RPM or DDR how much would that increase the value? It is one of the reasons i bought it as well. Not going to get rid of it I just like it. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow... I'm sure I overpaid but i haven't seen anything around $30 bucks for one hah I wish. I do understand most with non FS at MS65-MS67 are quite affordable.
  17. Yeah the only auction record I found was for a MS66 PL at GC I think it went around $400-$600. Saw another one go for $145. I'm not sure if they list often?
