This conversation brings up the question - Those "smooshers" at amusement parks are made to work with soft copper and zinc cents. What would happen if you put a steel cent in one?

The photos look obvious to me that the obverse is copper colored and the obverse clad layer is missing.
The offset edge letters kind of confirm it. But, I have not looked into how the edge lettering machine works on these.
BUT, I guess this could also be some kind of crazy acid etching post mint.

Let me just say that anyone who tries to create interest in numismatics today, where many younger people could care less about it, is an asset to us all.
