  1. I am not going to say any more until I see the whole coin if it is BU.
  2. It looks like the I in LIBERTY has a serif on the bottom left. The accent hair coin does not have one. Like Greenstang said the shot is to blurry to say for sure.
  3. Nice, It has a date. Very cool. I am not sure how it would grade maybe MS 1/2FS
  4. I don't think there is a middle-class any more
  5. It would be nice to see the whole 1983 D coin both obverse and reverse if posable. I have a feeling it will show that it has Die Deterioration. I am still a bit confused on how that works of the strike of a type 2 over a type 1 coin ? Was the coin labeled that way on the sale?
  6. LoL ...No not a expert just a collector like most of the members here. When I said (double serif) it refers to a term used for the doubling of a device that I do not see on the ( A ) you posted. It looks more like damage than doubling. I also think the type 1 you have posted is of a coin from a newer die and your type 2 is from a older die.. Or vice versa .and the proof is a proof with a S not a D .Just my thoughts.
  7. Nice find. That would be a good one for a coin book. I put the best ones I find in a book until I find a better one to replace it.
  8. Welcome Wasaki , I agree with JT2 and Greenstang just a worn out die. I will say your scope takes very good pictures and it will more than likely make you think you have something when you don't. I roll hunt coins all the time and I use a scope also but only to enlarge the coin for my old eyes. That way I can see more coins in a shorter time span than I can with a loupe. I search on average 200 to 300 at a time. I spend about 3 seconds per side on a clean coin, junk coins less time and then I move on. If there is not a eye catcher I go on to the next coin. Also learning the key dates of coins to look for will save you a lot of grief. If it is not something that is collectable to someone it is just a spender. Good luck hunting
  9. Welcome nccc.....I agree with Sandon very worn die ,I also noted you are saying type 2 over type 1 if there was such a thing a Denver coin would not have a double strike or press. The A you have outlined looks more like a scratch than a double serif.
  10. Welcome . It is a nice looking coin. Maybe worth between 3 to $10 depending on the grade. It is hard to see in the bag. You may want to take it out of the plastics bag. It may have PVC ?
  11. I was so happy about the Morgan I almost forgot the nice nickels I got for the proof collection. I can't pass on these when they are so reasonably priced and I need them.
  12. Welcome , I don't see anything other than maybe some plating issue's.
  13. Four more to go. I have been hunting for a while for the last 5 of the low 90's Morgan's they are tough to find graded in my price range. The ones I find in the coin shops are all high retail and ungraded . Every time I find a good looking one at auction it jumps up to high. I got a break and this one came up. It was a lot better looking than many 1892 's I have seen. I think it will be a good coin for the set.
  14. I agree with Greenstang and Bob. It looks like a spooned coin . Someone was trying to make a silver ring.
  15. Perhaps something like. This is not a error. You can see where Lincoln moved his ear to the back of his head.
  16. I want to add not all dealers are knowledgeable or seasoned collectors some are shopkeepers and salesmen. Don't be in a rush to take the first advice or offer.
  17. Very nice coin. Great information Mr-Spud thank for that. It looks like the coin has punch marks like it was being tested to see if it was real ?
