  1. Not where I live. They would tax the air if it would stop moving around .
  2. Do not send that send that coin in to be graded unless you have a ton of money and just don't care. It is worth one cent. it is just PMD.
  3. I will say that nickel is kinda of nickly
  4. Yes that is a true statement. ...........but they are not a error coins or a variety's .............. Just plane old well used cents.
  5. I think it is a waist of time and space. Pick up a micrometer and measure the coins as Sandon suggested before you send them in and loose more money.
  6. I agree with Greenstang it is common to see these type's of mint marks.
  7. The 1981 Type 2 is called 'Flat S'. The basic shape of the Type 2 'S' is the same as the Type 1, but there are two minor differences; 1) The ends of the 'S' shape are more bulbous on the Type 2 than on the Type 1, and 2) the top surface of the 'S' shape furthest away from the surface of the coin is rounded on the Type 1 but flat on the Type 2. It is very hard to see the flat S without good magnification and even then I shake my head. https://qualitycollectiblecoins.com/blog/how-to-tell-the-difference-between-type-1-and-type-2-proof-coins-from-1981/#:~:text=The 1981 Type 2 is called 'Flat S'.,Type 1 but flat on the Type 2.
  8. That is all that coin grading is,........a opinion... When you send a coin in it is looked at buy more than one grader. But posting here first helps you get a better idea from collectors of you coins worth .
  9. I would remove the coin from the 2x2 take a photo of both sides and repost it here. The members will give you there best honest opinion on the grade if the shots are acceptable to do that.
  10. It is never a bother to help a new collector ,it is a honor
  11. I think the coin is very nice . I do not collect to many British coins, I will say if it was a Morgan I bet it would get a MS64
  12. It looks like it was a ender. A coin on the end of a bank rolled wrapper, the coin got scratched is all.
  13. I call these grab bags. I see them a lot in antique stores. If you find one nice coin in all of these bags you are doing well. Most of the time they are the leftovers after cleaning out a old coin jar. Good luck..............
  14. Mike relax , You are not getting the point. A lot of people come on trying to get approval for a coin. The members who have commented are very knowledgeable numismatics who try to give honest answers. We also try to stop misinformation before a new person picks it up thinking it is ok when it is not. I have been around for a while and I learn something new every day. I hope I never stop finding new information.
  15. Ok then I am filling out the paperwork..LoL.. I don't think it will get very far. I found all of these in one of the many coin rolls I get from my bank. They are real nice so I saved them. Maybe someday I may get one graded .......Na
  16. Most likely problems would be grease on the die, a weak strike, worn out die and circulation of the coin being 65 years old.
  17. I love older holders. Not all the time but quite often the coin in the older holder is a nicer coin than the grade on the slab.
  18. I have to ask Mike, Why do you sound like you are used car salesman trying to sell us on this coin ? We all know what the coin is. I think you are asking a bit much but now days who knows.
  19. All the dies come from the master die so they would all be almost identical. We all know no two items are exactly the same but what you are looking for Abdulah is not there. I think the coin (Error Hype) is getting desperate. The way that the coins are made now days make it very rare to get errors. That is why people get so excited over a new die clash which I think is cool but that's here nor there. I have a feeling people will be searching for ghosts in a lot of older coins and that will make identification even harder than it is now. I will always coin hunt. I have been doing it for a while and most of what you think you see you do not.... believe me...... Look again.. and look it up,,,, Most errors have been found already. If you find something new in a 60 year old coin it is probably PMD. ( Post Mint Damage ) Good Luck.
  20. Thanks for the offer Coinbuf. I am sure one will stroll my way sooner or later. If I get the DT's I will give you a shout. LoL
  21. I live on the east cost and I have a hard time finding D and S coins. I am still looking for a circulated 2023 D nickel for my Whitman book.
  22. Yes I am still looking to find one someday.
