  1. Well we completed the set Saturday of 14 Eagles for the birthdates of the grandchildren and the wife said we are so close now we may as well finish off the set ? Are you sure 1986 to 2021 ....I said ok so we got 20 it took a while to get that many good ones now we have 7 more to find and hand picking is so time consuming. I can't believe how easily the raw coins get marked up right from the mint.  I may just order the last 7 from from one of the direct mint dealers I know. I want to get them before the price goes up again, in one week they went up $3 each. :p

Some of you will get this; some will not...but I couldn't resist.

Can anyone see a three in the date? Since I am only kindly speaking, don't you think I should send it off to be graded? She sure is a beauty!

If anyone would care for additional pics, feel free to ask! :insane::roflmao:🤦🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

I have found what your coin may have looked like a while back Sharann. This was in a roll I opened up today. I think mine is going to grade much higher than yours when I send it in.

Very cool Oldhoopster.  I always learn something new every day here. So that would mean it came off the line that way not PMD.

  5. I just started collecting the ASE and I think they are a great looking coin. I find for my pocket they are more reasonable than most older coins price wise and some are worth more than others already. Don't get me wrong I still love it when I find a deal on a good looking Morgan or Peace or any Silver for that matter Who is to say what something will be worth down the road. I remember the 2000 New Hampshire quarter came out and the next year 2001 The Old Man of the Mountain fell down. I started saving the pocket change quarters in hopes that they would be keepers some day. I have $70 worth of quarters and that is all there worth, So ya never know LoL

Alright JP, this is your fault! Lol I bought a 1968s proof set, our wedding year, a 1972 s proof set, my first sons birth year, and a 1974 s proof set, our youngest sons birth year. All for $27.40. Not as cheap as you got, but it will do. Now I gave a set of four including the 1976 proof set.

Nice it may not mean much to others but it will to your family. I think you did ok at $27.40 you are still 60 cents below current market value . Plus they could go higher you never know down the road a collector may see that look of disgust that Jefferson has on his face in the 1974 set knowing he was not going to get the 1776-1976 date on his coin in 1975 & 1976.

  7. Yes all my working life I had jars and cans some with wheat pennies and some with pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters all key dates and oddities that I would look at later in life .Well I am retired now and you wont believe what I found.. Lots of spare change , Not much lots of maybes. There was some keepers but not as much as I thought there would be. I am not saying to it was a loss. It is a hobby. I still keep all my wheat's and silver you never know and any true copper. I also roll hunt every day I can. The fact is there are still keepers out there somewhere and some day someone's kid may spend there dads 1960 D MSFS on a candy bar and one day we may get lucky  Always have faith in you mission and keep looking. If you are new here welcome. The members here are the nicest around and know there stuff.

  8. I saw a YouTube  not long ago on a guy that was showing a bunch of  Graded slab coins all fake like the labels looked real but were thin paper were not locked down in the corners and were pealing and stuff like NGC slabs interlock so you can stack them and the fake slabs did not lock just slid apart from each other.  I wish there was some way to stop this .People who don't know enough are just getting %$#*@  and it will come back to bite the honest collector.

Looks like glue or something similar.

That is what I wanted to ask you all???  What will take off the glue left behind from scotch tape without hurting the coin and wont be considered a cleaned coin. I see it on coins all the time.
