  1. Ya I thought it would be around that price, I have a 14 but not a 14 D there a little harder to find in pocket change LoL
  2. I picked up a couple of War Nickels today may be from a old mint set. I paid book for them no deals this time but I really wanted a couple of MS looking War Nickels. Real nice luster on these, but still hard to believe they graded so high there are still dings and marks. Still they are nicer than the old ones I have that are worn out LoL
  3. Nice 14 D ..Did you picked up a lot of the coins you were looking for to finish off you set?
  4. I am sure you are correct Kurt it is all about the profit...... Well they still like me I think LoL or maybe they like the money in all my accounts and credit cards I have with them. I don't bother them when it is busy and I only exchange a small amount like $50 it is just they did not have any change I thought it was kind of strange. More of a shortage it seams than just a rambling of a old corner store owner. And yes most people refused to use cash during the Pandemic so that helped to put a slowdown of coin exchange ... I am sure
  5. Very nice Bill, I like the Queen Piece, and as always the Morgan,
  6. I went to the bank today to exchange some rolls out that I have already searched, I do it weekly but lately I have been getting these mad scolding faces and being told that I can't buy any new coins only exchange what I already have. And then today the bank had no Quarters at all? So are we collectors doing it again and hording all the coins. I know we are not but the banks want to make me feel like it is something I am doing ? Is anyone else having these problems with getting coins.
  7. Yes it is beautiful, nice reeded edge not much wear and it has a wonderful mirror type finish to it, to bad that at some point in the last 100 years someone thought it was not quite shiny enough and gave it a good polishing. It will never get a chance to be in a collection but it has a nice home on my desk and when guests or the grandchildren come over they can hold it and see what a 100 year old $1 Dollar coin looks and feels like. So that in itself makes it a great Morgan. The children can hold and feel the wonder and beauty of a time gone by.
  8. I myself have not bid on any coins yet I have looked at GC and Heritage I was wondering ? I have seen extra charges? Is there a percentage you have to pay after winning a bid added on to the price you won it for? Thought I would ask seeing there sounds like many here that have used the auction system.
  9. I know I will never get my money back on my coins in my lifetime and I think there is a market for dated ASE's or there would not be a price chart of different values for different dates. I could have bought my whole ASE collection in 68 and 69 graded slab for between $1800 and $2200 but I bought them raw from dealers peace by piece for around $1500 it was more of a collection doing it that way and a lot more fun. And all my Morgan's I have paid 60 to 70 % less than there asking price but they are still common so no big deal there I just like what I got. I guess that is what it is all about in this collecting game.
  10. A dealer near me has lots of ASE's and Indian silver rounds and some 2 oz. ASE's also, not sure why anyone would want a ASE without a date it is only bullion for sure? But with a date it can be considered collectable, gradable and go up in value.
  11. I myself would not consider a new Morgan or Peace part of any older collection, to me it is a commemorative coin celebrating the 100th anniversary of the original coins. Unless of course they are going to continue to produce them every year and then it would be in it's own collection. I will eventually pick up a 2021 but for now I will look at my 1921
  12. At the least it was not like my Uncirculated plastic roll of Nickels' that were all worn out except for the top one LoL
  13. Well one thing is for sure Woods the roll was consistent with that many coins with the same MM. So I would say it was a roll from the mint or distribution center and not from someone's kitchen table
  14. It looks like the old MM was worn out so they made a bigger D MM and punched over the old D and gave it a run
  15. I have not ordered any of the type 2 yet waiting to see the price and who will advertise the cheapest first.?
  16. Yes the new slabs will be harder but most of the stuff I am getting is older slab coins. NGC is pretty quick with the registry I submitted 3 coins yesterday and got approval this morning. Yes thanks for the complement Quintus the 1881 is a coin I have been looking around for at a good price. Not that it is rare coin far from it but I like the palindromic number and it seams others do also so it pushes the price up a bit at most dealers. Plus it is another MS to add to my Morgan collection I am trying to get one of each Morgan MS slab grade from 60 to 69 so far I have a MS 63,64,65 the lower numbers left to get will be more reasonable than the last higher grades 66,68, and 69 may be out of my ballpark I would think ,we will see.
  17. Not sure if you would call this small. Kinda in the middle. I just have my 1 set of State and Park Quarters still have to make more of these for the kids and my Type 1 ASE completed. May work on Pennies next I know where there is a old book at a antique shop I may pick it up for a starter ?
  18. I see a lot of people blank out the bar code numbers to help keep the counterfeiting down to a minimum ? The bad guys are copying slabs now Quintus.
  19. Well I finally found one today, a little cleaner than yours Lem
  20. Got another sweet deal today for $65 ,the slab is a little scratched but a MS63 is ok by me
  21. The 1957 set was made up maybe from a broken proof set but the others I would leave them unbroken .
  22. I am new at this grading but I would say it is the wear on the hair not the face that makes the 64+ the better hair is my guess.
  23. Sandwich Mini Golf is not to far away. I may have to check it out.
