  1. The Morgan almost looks like it was painted silver . I am sure it is not, it is just the way the photo makes it look like it is ...LoL
  2. Thanks VKurtB. That would make sense, I was thinking of sending it back to PCGS and see if I could get a + or 64 upgrade. They are offering that option now. I think because so many people are spending money on getting the Green Bean the TPG companies are taking a hit. But with that filled D I am not sure it will grade up.
  3. Welcome Timteems .............There are a lot of coins that the raised lettering and the numbers get so worn down they get flattened out and make another edge so it looks like it is doubled but it is just worn out. But keep looking you never know what is out there.
  4. It looks copper on my PC also could be the lighting
  5. So here it is almost summer and after hand picking through a few hundred rolls to find the best BS circulated coins my winter project is done. I could have just bought the sets but what fun would that have been. I never would have found the V75 quarters or all the defective coins. Some of the early ones are hard to find and I am still looking for the New 2021 George Washington Park Quarter.
  6. What are the odds of finding another 2016 Cumberland Gap with the same Die deterioration doubling on both sides. There must have been thousands punched out before they changed the die. Now I have 2 of them not that it is worth anything but still a cool find.
  7. Thanks JT2 it is. I really wanted at least one nice looking Graded gold piece. I am no expert for sure but I think it is under graded. LoL I think most collectors would say that. One thing I did see is it has a filled mint mark is that a common thing ? But other than that it is a clean bust and eagle and hardly any field scratches. What is your say on that coin? JT2
  8. Your Microscope is fine you just have to remember to look at the coin from different angles and learn about the die variety's that make a coin look the way it does. I am still learning every day. I roll hunt for errors and find stuff all the time but is it the real deal 99% of the time it is not. It is a worn out die or grease or damage that looks like a mint mistake that got away. Don't give up there are some cool finds out there still but not all is what it seams to be. Here is a good shot of what looks to be doubling, if you look see the scratches or flow lines in the background they have polished the die to try to get some more use out of it but it is just a worn out die making reflections it looks like a big double deal.
  9. Not sure I would call it a portfolio I am still green at this game. I look at it this way I am a coin fan first. Hopefully a coin will always be worth more than just metal that is why I got the silver eagles. I love the artwork some coins are only base value but some have already gone up 25% 0r 50% I think I will always go for the coin before the bullion . I am loving finding Morgan's at a deal we got a nice bean at the same time. But when I looked at this coin and saw how clean it was and the color was brighter than most the wife and I had seen on line. We were hunting for this particular color if we could find it. The photo I took does not do it justice I will try to get a better shot. This Indian MS 63 is the lowest priced on on the PCGS list but the dealer took $150 off the price so as long as the coin keeps it's head up I should be good. LoL I will probably get in trouble for using this, But this is a Trueview shot of my coin
  10. We did actually RWB and we were just hunting for any gold coins that would be close to the mark just for a investment purpose. But when we looked at this coin I thought for the price maybe one nice coin to keep for the future. I have always wanted this particular Indian head design. This is not a rare piece by no means but I think it will hold it's value. You would know better than me LoL. The other one I like the most is a Saint- Gaudens. She will be next on the list if I can find a deal out there.
  11. Its ok James , Don't be discouraged the guys are just trying to put you on the right track . If I had a place like this to get help from years ago I never would have saved the stuff I have today that is only worth face value.
  12. This was a real nice looking coin so much nicer than I could hope for after looking at so many MS 60,1,2,and 3 on line that are scratched and pitted . The dealer gave us a great deal. Thank you all for your help.
  13. I almost forgot I was so happy about the other coins I forgot to post this one. We also grabbed this 64 proof set.
  14. My wife is liking this shopping stuff. She picked out a bean and got it chopped down another 20% off a none bean NGC mark. What a good girl.
  15. My wife picked this out today she liked the color .She also sweet talked it down 15% I hope she did good.
  16. Sometimes to much light on a shiny scratched up surface can mirror effect the item to make it look like it is more than it is. That is what the members here are trying to explain. If you look at the doubling from different angles it will magically go away.
  17. I like Silver Eagles they sell just like bars but they can also go up more in value just because they are artwork And of course there are your Morgan's and other wonderful silver coins. LoL
  18. Ya they are shiny, LoL well most ,some have a matt type finish, But thanks for the complement it was fun to build it, First for the grandkids birthdates and then for the Wife who said just finish it off.. ,
  19. We have two and they all sleep Cozy in the same Oak box in the safe. Someone told me years ago that a hardwood box helps to keep out the moisture. I also have them all in Airtight brand holders.
  20. Well after almost two months of shopping six or so locations I received our last type1 ASE today. I hand picked almost all of them. I had to send away for three to Tennessee I could not find them anywhere around here. I am happy now.
  21. Yes 51 is to young ,Condolences to you and your family.
  22. I have a 63 and a 57 in the packs and they are very nice but not mirrored fields
