  1. So my next big coin question is ? I think we have a lot of expert coin graders in the forum and this Morgan I got is very nice so I took some shots with my handy microscope and wanted to know if you all think the dealer of 30 years in business grade of MS63 is a close match. I have looked at it closely and find it in really good shape with minor bag marks. Has it been cleaned ? I don't think so but who's to say. I opened the folder to get the weight of the coin and get better shots for you all to look at and share your thoughts.
  2. LoL yes Quintus it is a far better case for sure no disrespect to PCGS it was kind of a joke. When I was at the coin dealer I actually bought 2 in those round cases the first year 1986 and the last year 2021of that series of Eagles. I am amazed to see the quality in the cut of the die and strike from old to new.
  3. Yes thanks Bill. I thought it was a Philly but it is always good to ask. What a markup just to put it in a PCGS slab. Mine looks just as good if not better for $35 and $3 for the case
  4. Yes perhaps it not being a rarity just a normal coin for 2021 it merits no listing yet
  5. I got the new 2022 Red Book today and there is no listing for the new 2021 Silver eagle that has no mint mark. I just got one. I am guessing it is minted in Philadelphia but there is no listing in the book only 2021W and 2021S. Would anyone here know the reason why? Here is a shot of the coin and page for it.
  6. It looks like some could be die cracks but it is a slabbed coin which will make it hard for you to look at a good angle or feel the raised crack ?
  7. I also found this Girl hiding in the 1/2 price box and had to have her so for $15 she is walking home with me.
  8. Another good day in town I found the Silver Proof set i was missing ,I have the 94 and 96 but wanted the 1995 it was the more expensive set of the 3 and most places wanted $65 or higher for it and today I got one for $50 so yay again
  9. Ya she is nice and bright white. Here is a shot you might like.
  10. I just picked what I liked and thought looked good. The Morgan was the sweetie no wear on it to speak of real nice luster some miner bag marks nothing big
  11. I think we did ok today ,The dealer was a good guy we had fun. I found the 3 piece set to finish my 1976 collection and some nice looking Silver all for $125.00 1901-O Morgan MS 63 ? 1958 + 1964 Quarters. I asked if I spend over $100 do i get a deal so he gave me a 1922-S Peace in VG condition just for the hell of it.
  12. I agree and dealers know what they have and what it is worth. I find it is always a good practice to ask you guys for Ideas ,I always look for nice big rounds and proof sets, but hearing your comments gets me thinking of other coins to keep a eye out for like Lem's 1960 D and Hoghead quarters. All good stuff. in my price range with any luck .. LoL Thanks
  13. Ya I may need a few more C's for one of those sweeties.
  14. Thanks for the tip Coinbuf I will keep a eye out for oddballs, I was at one shop a while back and they had three good looking trays of Morgans a $40 ,$50,+ $75 tray.It was cool to see them laid out like that. But it would take me forever to pick out good raw coins like that LOL
  15. Ya it looks real cool. But it is hard to say for sure. I find I have to look at the new coins from so many different angles the reflections play tricks with the microscope.
  16. Hi All . I am going shopping to some of the coin dealers around the Charlotte NC area tomorrow.I am always look for odd stuff but wanted to ask you guys and gals thoughts on (What's Hot). Like a date or mint mark Morgans I should be keeping a eye out for maybe?. I know everyone has different tastes in coins they like but any thoughts of coins to keep a look out for would be awesome, any help would be appreciated. and it may turn out to be a fun topic
  17. Yes it is sad that people can take something innocent and turn it into something dark, The organisation trained young men to be your best do your duty and be respectable to others it was a American Legacy, I was a Boy Scout before all the hoopla and one of my Grandsons just got his Eagle Scout Award not long ago. I am not into commemorative coins (so far LoL) but i was a good deal. So this will be his coin after I am gone.
  18. Well another nice find today a antique dealer had some nice commemorative coins so I picked up this anniversary issue of the Boy Scouts of America for $25
  19. We had a good time and I think we got a good enough deal at $35 a coin. I had a option of 3 cases and decided on this one it was more money but it made the coin more presentable and held the coin tighter than the other type cases.
  20. She did like the gold I think that will be next on the list. I am in luck she had a good time looking at the coins. a $1299.00 gold Indian head did catch her eye
  21. Well today the wife and I went coin shopping at a real nice coin shop in Nashville and we got some big coins. My wife said what are the shiny coins over there? So we decided to get two of them ,the first year and the last year
  22. I can see the whole date it runs off on a little angle all the numbers are in-between the good ones. To bad the coin is toast.
  23. Welcome Marilyn Golden I am also new here. Enjoy your time here it is very informative and everyone is pleasant to talk with.
  24. I told you all I would let you know what I found in the 2 rolls of wheat pennies I got from the bank and if there were any keepers... Quintus Arrius said.. They're all keepers in my book. And the fact you got them now, some 60 years after they were made is nothing less than extraordinary. So here is some that are worth at least $1. The 1956 BIE may be worth $5 the last 4 pictures are a 1946 penny on a copper dime size stock planchet it weighs 2.04 g not sure if it is worth much . It was punched without much of a rim on it so it has been worn down a lot through the years. But still very cool to find it
  25. Well well well, this is another example of why I love to roll hunt. This must have been a collection and someone just started rolling stuff up. Remember I said I had not seen and 2009 in a while well in one of the bank rolls I got yesterday with 2 rolls of all wheat's there was this roll of primo pennies. 2008 the last year of the Lincoln memorial a bunch of all 4 of the 2009 Lincoln Formative Years pennies and a bunch of 2010 first year of the shield cents, Also there were no other years but these 3 and most in MS condition
