  1. Most of the devices on the new quarters would be incuse. Have you also turned the coin and looked at it on a angle. if you are using a scope with multiple led lights, it will cast shadows of doubles.
  2. I think the handrail could use some new stain.
  3. It could be the collectors' initials.
  4. So is that fancy lingo for a restrike. counterfeit reputable.
  5. All the coins I have purchased have all been sent USPS. No one uses Fed Ex that I buy from.
  6. Hopefully, you were unable to find a listing for any 1969 (P) half dollar Ya I think the Philly mint was closed at that time.
  7. If it looks ok, could the coin be from a thin planchet or is there no tolerance for gold being underweight
  8. This is a different coin than the original this one has much better details. Same Idea only better looking.
  9. I think you got well over your money's worth from that store. $10 LoL
  10. So, do you see the doubled notching better in the new picture Eagle? It looks rounded to me or is this Deterioration Doubling?
  11. Appreciate everyone's insight and comments. I enjoy finding stuff like this it is a continues learning experience with each coin. I am not sure if any of the new classification DDO and DDRs are actually accepted fully. But they do ask for a few bucks for some of them. I do know that when you send a nickel to Variety Vista you used to have to send it to Brian because he attributes all nickel varieties for them. I do agree that the coin I have is a later die state. I did find a couple more of these in the same roll. This one is a bit nicer the top of the T is a bit clearer and flatter like the Brian one. It also has the extra metal chips on the corner of the first step on the left. Brian's Variety Coins - 2023P WDDR-019 Coin#1 NEW DISCOVERY!! Strong Class VIII doubling shows above the top step of the center steps and on the "ONTICE" of MONTICELLO. You will receive the coin shown in the photos. BU. (briansvarietycoins.com) I want to say again this is all just for the fun of it.
  12. Welcome Cams, to me that looks like struck through grease. I have found quite a few of these when putting the quarter folders together. I just save them for another time. I am not big on send coins out to be graded I am too cheap.
  13. I would check the spots to be sure they are not carbon spots for that amount of money. Even so the spots do pop out at ya.
  14. Welcome Cary, I also save stuff like this just because I can. Nice die cracks there is a site called. Cuds on Coins (cuds-on-coins.com) You may find one similar to your coin. if not, you could submit photos of your coin.
  15. That is a good point, The funny part is you cannot see any of this junk with the coin in hand LoL,, This coin is not as new as the one at Brians so it is not quite as defined. The die has also has seen many more strikes for sure. I thought the same until I looked at the top of the O and the inside of the C. It also has the step and doorway similarities.
  16. Most of the members will not go to a link. can you post from the Choose file tab on the bottom of the post?
  17. So, do you think it compares to the coin on the link? Or it looks normal. The first shot is normal. The second is abbynormal
  18. Well, I did say to speak your thoughts, and you did even though it was not related to the subject of the doubled devices.
  19. Can you post photos of the coin. Obverse and reverse so we can see the details.?
  20. This is not the same as the 55 or 72 cent and why the new type doubled devices is so hard to find, you cannot see it with the naked eye. I only saw it because I use a scope. This could possibly be a 2023 WDDR-019 Class VIII or something like it. Brian's Variety Coins - 2023P WDDR-019 Coin#1 NEW DISCOVERY!! Strong Class VIII doubling shows above the top step of the center steps and on the "ONTICE" of MONTICELLO. You will receive the coin shown in the photos. BU. (briansvarietycoins.com) I have done the turning the coin to check the lighting and it looks the same tilted or at 180 to 360 degrees. Feel free to speak your thoughts on this coin it is not being sent out it has to many contact marks anyway.
  21. LoL If looking for posable mint defects in coins is what you like to do then go for it. I roll hunt all the time and I do find many irregularities in coins. However, I do not find true error coins very often, once in a blue moon like almost never. But I still roll hunt all the time searching for hard-to-find coins to fill my coin folders. I enjoy it and if I do find a coin, I truly think is worthy I will post it in a thread to see what others think. I say collect what you like. The point is Most collectors do not hunt only a small percentage. Kurt knows coins inside and out and has been collecting and representing numismatics for his lifetime. He as most members here will tell you how things are you may not like all of it but we all are true to the hobby.
