  1. Hello all. I recently picked up this Lincoln cent and really bought it because of the odd spot on the rim on the reverse above “UNUM”. I don’t know if this is just PMD or something else like a type of lamination or what. If it is not PMD, I am not really sure what this would be classified as. I’m not looking to have it graded or anything like that. I am just curious as to what the other members have to say. I hope these pics are good enough. If not, let me know and I will try to post better ones. Thanks.
  2. Probably be hard to upload the pics to your computer.
  3. Thanks. I have sent Joe 12 more coins for imaging and got this one back. Can’t wait to get the others. It’s like Christmas when the images start coming in.
  4. I'm going to say it has some rim damage (PMD) and it looks like it had another cent stuck to it by whatever that substance is (adhesive?) which left an impression.
  5. Thats crazy. I’ll bet that thing is just crispy. Hope it makes it through shipping. Over a grand for a dead cricket and a good story.
  6. I just bought my first coin from Northeast Numismatics. Its a good place to look.
  7. Sorry about that. I just saw the JM and apparently added in my own I. Welcome Josh. Coin collecting is super addictive. I’m ate up with it pretty bad but I’m ok with that. What do you collect?
  8. Actually these are done with my cell phone. My set up is nothing more than setting my phone on top of a coffee cup and the lighting is just a table lamp. Raw coins come out so much better than slabbed. You don’t have to fight the glare on the plastic. Then I just crop and combine the pics using photoscapeX. Nothing fancy at all.
  9. This is not a mintmark. You are experiencing what is called “pareidolia” which means your brain is turning that cluster of darkened pits into an S. It’s just damage with coin crud in it. This happens a lot with coins. People think they see all kinds of things that are not there. Looks like this is a Philly coin.
  10. I would say it is a sample slab photo (stock photo) with the cert# removed. This is usually done if sellers have more than one of these for sale. This means that the coin in the listing photos is most likely not the exact coin you will receive. I like to see the actual coin I am buying and usually will not buy from a sample photo. I would read any descriptions the seller has on the listing to see if this is the “actual” coin or not. I doubt it is.
  11. Hello and welcome. I’m going to say it has been plated at some point. No value over face.
  12. That looks real nice and clean! Great pick up.
