  1. Not too far off from what they look like from the mint. So much smooth surface area on the obverse. They don’t stand a chance. Nice circ find.
  2. That’s a shame. You would think it would be pretty obvious why it got a 61. Still looks like a nice piece no matter what the grade is.
  3. Your coin looks pretty nice. What do you think brought it down to 61?
  4. They probably withdrew it to be able to put out something much worse.
  5. The US Mint has the opportunity to do a lot of cool things but they don’t. I would like to see something along the lines of a multi year reissue of the 7070 type set coins in the original composition, size and design. Give me that 1804 dollar on a nice silver planchet like it was intended. Reissue a 3 cent silver or a half dime in the correct size. Once I saw it was going to be released as a gold coin I became disinterested. I like gold coins but I would rather see a flying eagle cent in bright red copper than on a gold blank. Throw out a couple different designs per year. Collab with Dansco and have them make a new album for this or something. There are things the mint could do that would be interesting to collectors. A reissue of a commem from 2017 or another gold Kennedy or god forbid more Morgan and peace dollars in my opinion is not it. At a minimum, do something you haven’t already done.
  6. Thank you. That always means a lot when it comes from fellow collectors.
  7. Got this 85 proof today and when I entered it into the system the reverse image was a Morgan. I thought that was kinda funny.
  8. I appreciate it but I’m not that hardcore brother.
  9. The set is big enough as it is. I think you would have to be pretty hardcore to do that.
  10. Yea I thought you would be able to nominate anything and not have to pick from a list. I also wish they would do a re-issue of the coin as it was and not a gold coin unless it was a gold coin to start with.
  11. These were available through the mint in P&D rolls and bags too I think. I went through about 4 rolls and most of them were pretty marked up and lots of nicks. None of them looked great at all. Another problem is that the TPGs have misattributed some of the satin finish coins for high grade circulation strikes. I have a top pop MS-68 6FS 2006 coin with a population of 2. The problem is that it is a satin finish coin from the uncirculated set with the wrong label. Makes me wonder if the other top pop is a satin finish coin as well. I have seen others like this. I can’t in good conscience put it in my set, but I have seen others that do have them in their sets.
  12. I should have used the term uncirculated set but the way I read that, there is a difference between the coins from the uncirculated set as opposed to the regular circulation pieces. Is that not how it reads to you guys?
  13. I’m not sure when this started. Probably more modern sets.
  14. This is pulled directly from the mint website from the 2020 mint set page. I don’t see this on any of the mint set pages for other years. United States Mint uncirculated coins are struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwikv7HVrqiCAxVfjYkEHSmCCsEQFnoECBMQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fcatalog.usmint.gov%2Funcirculated-coin-set-2020-20RJ.html&usg=AOvVaw1Uszgxs427OEy1akcarO_v&opi=89978449
  15. Here is the other one. 1943 P/P VP-007 / CONECA RPM-004. One of the many RPMs for the Philly 5 cent coins of 43. Repunched northeast of the first punch. This is the 2nd P/P example in my collection with the other being the VP-008.
  16. Picked up another couple of RPMs for the collection. The first one is this 1942 S/S VP-004 / CONECA RPM-004. The repunch went north leaving just a little of the first impression peeking out of the bottom. The image from variety plus also shows the die crack. There has to be some without it too out there.
  17. That photo makes it just hard enough to not be able to see anything you need to look at. Can’t tell the angle of the 9 and can’t really determine if the numbers are level. I agree at a glance it looks like a large date. Tail of the 7 looks lower than the 0.
