  1. Any doubling you see is machine doubling. It's to late of a date to be a doubled die. MD is very common. The one there is only worth a cent.
  2. That's a wonderful story my friend. I'm sorry about your loss in 2012.
  3. Alot of people made a good little profit. I kinda wish I had to before the price dropped back down.
  4. That poor old boy there in the last articles sure got hit a hard lick. That would have probably been my first lie. It being just one dollar they should have just gave him a little jail time. I could understand if it were several or if he was making them. Old boy was awful young.
  5. Thank you for putting in the research and sharing. I've been wanting to learn more about this.
  6. Another wonderful answer. I've enjoyed reading the replies very much.
  7. Thank you. I sure miss him. Wish I'd had more time with him. The times we did have were great tho. Alot of fun adventures.
  8. Thank you for sharing that story. My dad and I were very close and bonded over other things. He never was a collector but we bonded over fishing and hunting and other things. I lost him last year the day after his 60th birthday. He was suffering from sugar really bad. He only had a half of a foot on each side where they cut on him so much. They wanted to take his legs but he wouldn't give them up and he had a massive heart attack. Your story brought back some of my bonding memories with him. Also those Walkers are some very beautiful coins. I really enjoy them. I own a few common date worn ones. Nothing nice yet but probably will in the future. I appreciate your reply and have a wonderful day my good friend.
  9. I was very happy to buy a Washington Quarter off @Six Mile Rick. The coin hasn't had enough time to make it to me yet but I wanted to say some good things about him anyways. I've seen all the other positive post about him. In my dealings he is a very nice guy and has great prices. Be very happy to buy from him again. He was very helpful to me.
  10. The v75 is very beautiful isn't it? I got one of them to. I love it. I was lucky enough to get the ASE also. They are both certified and I got a 2 slab case to keep them both together in. I also got a lords prayer dog tag from ww2 I found while medal detecting I keep with them.
  11. If you notice there weren't any women hung. Wonder how many were in on it with their husband's.
  12. Let's try another. This engraver engraved Centennial medal for Philadelphias US International Exposition and the Grant second inaugural medal. Who is he? Anyone can play. If you know the answer then type er in.
  13. They should have lined all the mint workers up and made them watch the executions and that would have probably deterred it more. That would be enough to keep an honest man honest. Would me anyways.
  14. Me to. I'd be afraid to pack my own money from home with me. Lol. Be afraid they think it was theirs.
  15. Nevermind. Seen in other link posted he was hung. Thank you for sharing.
  16. That's a whole lot of dollars. I'm sure several were seized and destroyed but imagine how many are still out there. They made an example out of that old boy. Wonder if he got the firing squad.
  17. Cause he was around in those years and he engraved several coins and medals. And he died while he was still in office.
  18. I'd a been trying figure it out for a month. Lol
  19. I'll do some studying and see if I can't figure it out. Unless someone gets it before I do.
  20. That was horrible. A terrible deal. I watched a thing on that and they said they was alive all the way until the capsule hit the water at 270 mph.
