  1. I bought one quarter. I admit it is ridiculous. But would anyone know the mintage of the quarters.
  2. Cleaned coins belong on the shelf. Collector’s ultimately sell for a profit or leave them for family when they leave earth. Eventually the cleaned coins which collector’s regard as the amount punched on the coin in the first place aren’t worth collecting
  3. Seems like an easily Mark to run off in time. Especially on the quarters
  4. Point being was, a close look was being used
  5. Money lost ,if you will, can be recovered with other coin sales. And the graded coins still remain.
  6. (002,003) were submitted with a mint error submission so they were totally inspected and the results are in.....I hope the election doesn't go this way,lol
  7. exactly.....What baffles me at this point......the cleaned slab (002) and the ms 62 are identical .......so why one is one and not two being the same?either all 3 would be cleaned or two of the 3 ms 62.......I had these coins under a loop before submitting.....and the one thing that didn't even make the core printing was the obverse of one had minor doubling. Don't get me wrong I'm satisfied with the results, and as you said Now I have a comparison guide if you will.
  8. Truth be told I need a larger post count..........kidding.
  9. How So? That one would spend money otherwise lost at the bar or lottery? At the very least it gained value to the owner.........obviously not you.
  10. True I thought the coins were typically better than average so as a 1st time submission at 17 bucks a coin. I spent more on KENO.
  11. It was brought up by a. Moderator to offer a thread to non members. So here it is. In regards to the 3rd posting. The pix were for another op of a thread wondering about grading.
  12. So I found these quarters in a roll of other silver quarters. And I never graded coins before so what the heck. Here’s what I got back. Not disappointed in the least. A novice like me had no idea 2 were laundered. Lol
  13. I Slabbed these just for the sake of curiosity they looked authentic I have no problem with the results.
  14. Food for thought. My 3 coins were graded. 2 au cleaned. And the last one. Ms 62. I would gather. I expected a few cleaned grades the ms 62 is a pleasant surprise. (All 1964 quarters).
  15. And this is why the first thing I eat with my coin collection are my trusty fig bars and milk.......I hate milk spots...... but they are inevitable especially with my nervous condition............
  16. A nice 2020 roll of quarters with the privy 75th mark shouldn't be hard to come by; Each quarter worth about 11 bucks...........As for the ase's ......I'll wait this one out or get one at dumb luck......way down the road.
  17. I sent 3 coins set at 450.00 bucks ......the grading company doesn't put the price tag on the coin YOU and the Public do.......as for insurance I mailed 14 years of child support to an evil witch......yes her MOM was born on Halloween!! Post office never lost a letter........So Write anything you want, just be prepared to back it up.
  18. I see little difference on the resale aspect ....slabbed coins graded as authentic ''sets'' and coins still in the ogp, vary at whether they sell at the same price at auction As far I've seen graded coins and sets are selling at or near each others price....but for naked appeal ogp wins for the collector moreover than slabs imho.
  19. Busting them out of the set may backfire on you.......I have a 1961 and a 1962 proof set locked up tight.......They'll be a day coming to sell ....when I leave this earth even then ,just maybe.....
  20. A coin sent in for grading needs a tier? Wouldn't the grading evaluate the coin to the correct tier? Asking for a friend, I sent my coins in as mint error inspection....what do I know....short answer, not much.
  21. One point that was brought up was detail or lack of detail with pictures from a seller ,being a ''tip off'' for a rip off....A lot of sellers on Ebay just post coins quick to sell and try and make a profit. Not really taking into account whether they are actually posting quality pix. A number of sellers are just hobbying for lack of a better term and do not live and breathe coins. This is where the feedback score is worth a look......the more transactions the better 100% rating even better..........I look the other way at 98% or worse.....If I do anything with the big auction houses it will be in person. Only coin shops around where I live are pawn brokers and we all know they may be friendly until the subject of price is brought up.
  22. you'll get an answer when you auction off the coins.......even g4 coins have a price ABOVE SPOT.
