  1. A few magnifying glasses I use are led lighted with a 4x magnify circle IN the glass itself.....so you have a choice to check in depth as you scan the coin with the broader spectrum......I then move to the loop for closer inspection.....I'm currently waiting for black Friday for a laptop solely for the use of coins and a digital magnification scope that displays a close up view of a coin on the screen for inspection.
  2. Here's my take on grading...the first thing above all is what do you expect form the coin? To flip it, keepsake, long term equity? To turn a profit takes timing , market power (rarity,variety...) and condition....meet all the requirements then grading is a wise choice, also an even wiser choice is to have a coin graded because it is your coin...no one else's.....I have 3 coins being graded.....why? Because they look (to me) as really good coins very nice for there age....but I would love a high grade and maybe have something worth keeping....not worth selling....too me that is why I grade and would grade some of the above coins.....but not all.....not a bad steel cent btw.
  3. Uh they’re called replies. To this thread. By the by. Lol
  4. ran out of weed a long time ago...still have the baggies thou.........
  5. even the cheap stuff is tolerable.......
  6. Absolutely without a market. It’s just another coin. One could always fall back on condition. Mint error coins are what they are and are sold eventually.
  7. ngc mint error coins getting top dollar.....I'll sleep tonight knowing my house is still mine,
  8. Good read. And I agree. However that doesn’t say my point is mute. Which is mint error coins sell for more. With right buyer.
  9. My apologies to the op....this obliteration of english and how it is written and ultimately misunderstood is baffling to me but maybe entertaining, that being said here is a mint error with an ase.....huh, Right next to the house keys Thats where I'll keep this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-W-with-reverse-of-2007-American-Silver-Eagle/114461672307?hash=item1aa6728373%3Ag%3AeuUAAOSwVDdfhjBl&LH_Auction=1
  10. and I apparently write just fine. You and a few others have a hard time reading and actually understanding what you just read. Interesting.
  11. Again. The house bet is for proving errored coins are worthless. They are not ,never will be. So the keys and the deed are right next to my 1969 s ddo. Thanks for the info.
  12. Ok so tell me. I obviously don’t know. Why ask the blind to see.
  13. Lack of a better term. The plastic baggie I used. Not all coin collectors have 2x2’s lying around. 3 coins 3 baggies, wrappings, plastic call it what you want
  14. I'm going to try and sell a coin a week ,here, with pix and description.....payment by paypal. pm for address. 1st coin will be offered up on Sunday and end on the following Sunday....all offers considered. Primarily a best offer format....I will not post a starting price, However I will reserve the highest offer as the selling price over spot. Forum members here get 1st dibbs on any coin I post. After the week the coin(s) go to eBay at a set price or reserve. ..pennies will be .25 cent minimum starting price. I only sell rare ( to me) coins . THERE WILL BE NO CLEANED COINS!!! See you tomorrow. Coin sold.
  15. Still my only point, which may be pointless, is that if you have coins just to keep, admire, which would an open mind prefer? a brown dirty coin or a cleaned coin worthy of a shelf?
  16. I agree. But if one is to sit on a coin old or not. Or shall I say not worth anything. What’s the harm in cleaning a coin worth a penny?
