  1. Unless you need this for a hole filler it would be a spender for me.
  2. This thread has great potential to be quite entertaining. In my own experience I am not a fan of that site.
  3. A pessimist is a person who has had to listen to too many optimists.

  4. Nothing at all wrong with this. Sarcasm and stinging can add a great deal of flavor to a conversation and should not be stopped. This is nothing unusual and should be expected on a public forum or in life in general. A poster "usually" knows when a comment is going to cross a line though rather just skirt the gray areas. Now that is just funny.
  5. Look forward to seeing more. I would also take a pair of needle-nose pliers and make sure the staples are flattened on your 2x2's. Although the batch you showed are not in mint condition - there is no point in adding scratches or damage due to a staple when it is easily prevented.
  6. Keep the '42. Spend the '47 and '64. Unless you are collecting nickels and need them for hole fillers..
  7. Did you hear about the man who swallowed a coin?

    There’s no change yet.

  8. 100%. So instead of calling the list "most influential" - a more appropriate title would be "most recognized" or "most popular" based on what type of collectors vote..
  9. I like coin collecting and maybe half a dozen people.

  10. 1970's cent is PMD - post mint damage. As stated above - spend the cent and the nickel both.
  11. Nothing special other than it is silver. As noted - a full pic of both sides of coin should be included when posting.
  12. Now this would likely be a very sought after label. That is one way to look at it. I personally don't care on way or the other. The item inside the slab is where my focus lies - the rest is just window dressing that can be changed easily enough. As you also point out - you can resubmit and have it removed.
  13. Nice looking coin. As said above appears to be normal cent.
  14. At the end of the day, it's all about money. (Appropriate for this forum.)

  15. Interesting thought Bob. Certainly worth a try.
  16. Looks to me like the coin has ED - Environmental damage. In that condition I would simply spend it and let it roam the wilds.
  17. So are you still looking for those coins or did you end up paying more and getting what you wanted minus the collection name on the label? Honest questions here: What is your personal issue is with some random collection name on a label when it comes to a coin you want at a decent price. Do you think a random name on a label lessons the value of the coin that is encapsulated?
  18. I agree with the above comments. I would put it in something other than a 2x2 if it were mine. However, I suppose a 2x2 works.
  19. Welcome to the forum - is there a coin or question meant to go with this topic?
  20. Ahh well then I will not be as impressed
  21. Chris at this point in time please step away from the keyboard. Take a deep breath. Collect your thoughts. Then please restate what you are saying in a way we will understand. Clearly you are passionate about what you are trying to ask or tell us and I am curious.
  22. I agree Roger. I think if veterans whined like some other groups there would be a much greater awareness of veteran issues. That though is not a characteristic of the veterans class in general. So the care is there, but it is not always easy to get to (distance) nor is it always timely from what I have experienced.
