  1. the guy claims to be one of the oldest sellers on ebay and ALOT of his coins look very similarly toned and just off? and he apparently is the person who slabs the NNC coins based on unconfirmed info i read???
  2. after doing some research it appears the seller and the NNC grading company may be one and the same. they have alot of coins of different denominations that have almost identical toning/ color patterns. i am very curious as to the toning and if it is all AT??
  3. yeah thats what im seeing also, it looks like EF45 ish but i dont know enough to be certain. the feet of the eagle appear totally worn off, no arrow details and soft mushy hair on the obverse definately doesnt look UNC. what do you think of the toning? does it look natural and wouldnt some of the toning wrap to the back edge even if it was and "end of roll" coin
  4. do the images make it appear it is out of the slab based on shadow depth?
  5. i was browsing ebay thinking i want a couple toned morgans. this is in one of those NNC slabs and is described as gem uncirculated. Please advise your thoughts thanks!
  6. very good photo! yeah my ms62 versions were way more marked up than the pictured ms63. Im thinking ms64 or higher even now.
  7. i have only ever owned a couple of these that were in ms62 grades (not sure of the date) but if i remember correctly they had more marks than this appears to have and didnt look nearly as nice. I think this would be ms 63 or 64??
  8. here is another seller same stuff, same hand photo LOL
  9. Morgan Silver Dollar Coins Collection 1878 - 1904 | eBay
  10. plus all the toning exactly the same, not one mark in the face or fields on any. look like they erased some color in the fields with literally a pencil eraser. someone already bought one.
  11. these are listed on ebay. look extremely fake. what do you all think.
  12. JT, i dont collect indian heads or buffalos but all i can say is &*(%$#$%**. those look amazing! please explain them for us who dont know the series. Merry Christmas!!
  13. thanks coinbuf. point well taken as i would go registered mail fully insured if and when i decide to submit. I contacted CAC from their website to sign up as a collector but it says up to 8 weeks to get approved. just out of curiosity what grades would you have given them if you didnt know they were 62s coinbuf? is the 1881 overgraded with the face beating it has?? i have several that appear to have been in the same fight and also appear to have lost the battle and yet the reverses are almost mark free. I am beginning to wonder if i have some that are marginal 62s and the ones that i thought were close to 63 are just normal for the grade. grading is very hard. thanks again
  14. thanks for the replies. everyone was very spot on. all three of the carson cities are MS62. i have a bunch of 62 carson city morgans that look similar to the third coin and the first and second appear better. I would have guessed the first and second MS63 and the third MS62. I am wondering regardless of the value upgrade if anyone thinks these have a CAC shot now knowing the MS62 grades. thanks for all the replies and merry christmas again.
  15. this coin was also the same grade and this one seemed to be more in line with what i would expect.
  16. here is another example recently purchased that i also thought was at the high end of the grade. please take a look and advise thoughts. i will post actual graded slab photos later and also a same grade coin which led me to my thoughts. thanks!
  17. hello again and MERRY CHRISTMAS!! to all. I purchased this morgan thinking it may be on the higher end of its assigned grade and thinking of sending to CAC. Please review and see what grade you would assign and advise thanks!!
  18. wow that is an amazing observation i can clearly see it now that you have pointed it out. THANKS RWB!!
  19. hello again, many thanks to those who provided great info on my last post. I just purchased this coin as a more eye appealing double. I noticed a flat "burnished" looking area above the eagle on the reverse and was wondering what that is all about?? also, these pics were from the site i purchased so i hope i am not violating any rules by posting. I only wish i could take pics like these. thanks in advance
  20. thanks for all the replies! this is fantastic information that will be helpful. that explains clearly to me now why the location of the mintmark is in different locations. I really appreciate everyone taking their time to look at this, thanks again
  21. were you looking at the 400 one for sale? should the mintmark on all 1927 S be in the same location?
  22. same seller, that one looks ok to me but now im second guessing myself. it is the 400 one no slant in the "S" and location seems way off?
  23. sorry i dont know what im doing on this computer. can i ask another question please. are there different mint mark locations for same year "S" coins? and would the "S" on a 1934 be in the same place as a 1927? or can the mint mark location vary from coin to coin? thanks
