Years ago, after constant urgings and reminders from my mother to get a colonoscopy, I got one.

Got my first when i was 50.  I remember the anesthesiologist coming in she told me what she was going to do and how it was going to go. she then held my hand and said you may feel a little pinch... and that is all that i remembered until i woke up.....    i think i to the doc  that if we were in Georgia i think we would be married...  he got a chuckle..   i recommend anyone over 45 to start having them.. it is never too soon or too late to take care of yourself.

Do you think maybe that coin people are believed to be easy marks, or especially stupid?

I firmly believe that these types of sales pitches are geared to those who know collectors.  Those unknowing and unwillingly fall prey to the unscrupulous.   thinking that they will get an awsome gift for their numismatic loved one and end up Tgetting scammed.  :(  Thes are right along the lines of Mike the Huckster over at HSN, or those Silver Towne guys.  If you don't buy it now there wont be another opportunity!!!  very low mintage...  they only made ne for you!!!

it was in a display case perhaps the sun through the window cooked it?

Never leave plastic in direct sunlight or in an area that will be heated by the sun :(  yes this can cause serious damage to the plastics.....  just look at your headlights n your car.

  4. Your best bet is to stick with one of the top two TPGs NGC and PCGS if the coin is worth slabbing...  Pretty much take what people call "ERRORS"  with a gain of salt and sand.  most are not.  most are just damaged coins.  However if you are looking for some of those fringe variety attributions on a slab you should send it to ANACS they will attribute almost any obscure variety.

  5. I absolutely agree.   there is plent of room to put a little round dot on the holder pointing to what is the issue.  I have looked at coins before and could swore that it was a problem free coin only for it to come back detailed or cleaned.   Even with crack outs that were straight graded by other TPG's...  I would love to see wjhat the see that the others did not.

  6. Well running that post Christmas sticker kit sale.  The do it at home stickering kit for you and your loved ones.  just send $19.95 and your preferred color sticker to me and i will get it right in the mail to you.....  All kidding aside.  Coins are what i collect.  Just because a coin has a sticker on it doesn't mean that it is better than one that doesn't and worth more.  A coin is only as valuable to you as what you're willing to pay for it.  I have never purchased a coin for more that n $50 that i haven't picked up flipped every which a way and then looked at it with a loop.   then i set it down and take a breath talk to the guy and then look at it again....  it takes a lot for me to pull the trigger on some of the coins i have purchased but the right coin is worth it and the wrong one will make you cringe..  Registry's are great but i will never put one together and or try for the highest stickered coin i can find..
