They are right... buy a problem and you own it. this isnt a beauty mark .... it is an ugly spot. you can find better.

yes @Sandon that is an old PCI holder and back in the days of the green holders they were very conservative. I think now a days she would at least go one grade higher. i love looking for these old Green PCI holders you can get some real gems in them if you look carefully

I do not see NCS using any restoration techniques or products that would have resulted in the now obvious hairlines. As others have opined the most likely scenario is that during the restoration the old cleaning was uncovered.
The CoinBuff is correct. Conservation does not constitute "CLEANED". this happened prior to them conserving your coin and it has been "restored" to the best possible condition. the cleaning happened years before and will still be present when conserved..

WOW this is awesome.... Really doesn't matter to me . Nothing that late in life ever gets slabbed by me........... If it is only worth face value why put it in a slab unless these are for the "AMWAY" coins you know Nui islands and the maeshal island...... etc...

Well it started one Christmas back in 1974 when my mother game me two of those famous little blue folders. Lincoln cents book two (41-62) and three (63-74). worked on them for a lifetime at least that is what i though when i was 14. from that Christmas i started getting other little blue folders. Jefferson Nickels, Franklin half dollars, IKEs, SBA's. I still have those 40 years later. When i started working and making a couple of dollars i thought i was hot stuff when i started buying slabbed Morgan's, Peace, and Walkers. I seem to have amassed a really large selection of these with the Peace and Franklin sets being completed in MS grades. Then a funny thing happened I saw a proof Indian cent. with vibrant blues and greens and rose blush tones and feel in love with them. I have over the years put together a really nice MS and PF set of Indian with the MS set being down to about 14 to be complete and the PR about 20. I buy one every time I see one. This lead to starting a MS buffalo nickel set for which i am now down to just 10 left. so i have set aside my Walkers and Morgan's and Barbers for the time being and have been concentrated on the Indian cents and Buffalo nickels. With that being my main concentration i still get side tracked on a rally good classic bust half or just about any other really nice coin that catches my eye.

I-bonds are limited to $10,000 a year per person. No more than a niche investment for lots of investors.
so true but it adds to a balance portfolio when you mix in all of your asset classes. with metals. property. and stocks... helps to hedge against those losses

oin, stamp, and
Stamp collection.... I used to be heavy into stamp collecting.. the only thing no one even sends snail mail anymore. well anyway i found myself more and more involved with my coins then i did with my stamps and the collection sat un attended for years. i decided to unload them knowing that i would never get what i put into them back. I got a hold of Mystic Stamp and they sent the boxes i took one last time to look at them and sent them away. they only thing most dealers are interested in is the back of the Book stuff mostly air mails and revenues. If you have anything with in the first 200 Scott numbers in mint they are interested and or the Columbians and Zeppelins. Anything after around 1930 you only get face value if they are mint so be prepared for that. I did have a lot of early stuff in the 1 - 100 range so i did make a little money back. i by no means broke even with the way the declining stamp prices have been since the late 90's there is still money to be made with the rare ones but that is few and far between.. hope it helps
