  1. I know I am late to the party. I would far rather regret not buying a coin then regret buying it.
  2. I don't know if I should say this as the last time I gave my opinion I was informed I was senselessly bashing. I would not pay more than 15 money for it. I think it is too optimistic at 20.
  3. @CoinbufForget it. Just forget it. I shant come here again
  4. ...Sighs deeply... I come here from time to time to try to understand what it is about all this that makes coin collectors forget about coins and fixate on points, and label numbers. I have feared for almost forty years what grading and slabbing would bring. I guess dissent is just baseless bashing. So I will just move along with the realization that like fashion all coin collecting takes anymore is looks and a whole lot of money. I hope you enjoy the competition.
  5. never said anything close to that.
  6. Sorry, this is what I hate about slabs and the registry. It has become more about the number on the label rhen the coin, and that makes things more of a spitting contest than an attempt to have a collection of coins that pleases. But, just my thinking. Again, sorry
  7. 1. New Rochelle 2. Maine 3. Gettysburg Just what I like
  8. I cannot tell for sure what it is but at that size I doubt if it would carry any premium at all.
  9. I do not see where some people are coming ftom....If someone wishes to collect contemporary counterfeits then what is to stop them from paying what they wish? No one here has anything to say about what is worthy of collecting. Some of us collect gold roosters, some gold angels (that are realy genuises, not angels), some collect liards, while others collect 18th century fakes, it is all about what pleases the collector, nothing else
  10. I would not accept that as five full steps. I admit that I am fussy when calling full steps, they must be clear with no bridges, dings, or fades. Your coin looks to have a bridge under the second column from the left. It is a nicecoin, just not full steps
  11. guess I am blind. I don't see it.
  12. And I thought that public whining was a phenomena of the last half of the 20th century.
  13. Around here they have town wide yard sales. Canaan has theirs on May 7
  14. Counties in Florida used to have tangible and intangible taxes (I no longer live there so do not know if they are still in force) so I doubt they are unconstitutional, and they are workable. This is basically an intangible tax.
  15. colorized pieces of . Um not for my collection
  16. it goes not. Collecting is for enjoyment, if you are getting coins for any other reason you have stepped into a different realm.
  17. why do people think every little die crack or over polished die needs a name?
  18. if someone were to give me a theme it would, with my luck, be Entrance of the Gladiator by Fucik
  19. I do not doubt that the coach was, and is, correct. Pop music, no mater what genre, and talent do not necessarily go hand and hand. I also do not doubt that the dealer who said this was mint damage is wrong. As in all things, one must be their own advocate.
  20. is it worth much? Well, I have a half dozen chicken runs and goat run that are thawing out, and that coin is worth everything you can dig out of them.
  21. Have any of you ever be on a cruise? The ones that I went on would have nickel slots and when they paid out there would be bright shiny coins flashing in the light as they fell. Every single one would look like this coin. They were cleaned and polished every time before they were put in the machines. So my first guess is that you have the wrong laundry machine in mind.
  22. There are some things that set me wondering about this coin. I am not proficient enough to say this is not righteous, but I have my doubts. Where did you get this?
